Great overall, bad for multitasking tho.
Pros: The screen is a beauty and you can see everything very clearly with barely any hiccups. Easy to set up. Has a decent menu thats easy to maneuver around. Has no screen tear unless the game itself does not support 4k. Visually great even when playing games that ain't meant for 4k. Cons: Does have some weight to it so you have to be careful. Terrible for multitasking while gaming. The screen cannot compute whether to stay hdr or go regular hdmi when gaming and will go black. If your gaming, tabbing out only really works on full screen but even then that's slower then borderless. And if you go borderless the screen will have the hdmi issue as said above. Other then that. I've come to work with the issue and love the screen quality very much.

Update before using
I saw negative reviews about this monitor and quite frankly I think most of them are nitpicky they have to be extremely bored or have too much time on their hands because I see excellent quality all around. I have a MSI GEFORCE RTX 3080 I have another 4k monitor by ACER but it's made for AMD will work with Nvidia but I wanted a monitor that could open up for Nvidia so I got the G7. It's so simple to put together a 5 year old can do it, before you start get a flash drive and download the updated drivers because if not you won't be able to manually change response times and so on you must use the flash drive directly to the monitor it won't work any other way. With gaming be prepared because you will be adjusting to the speed even though you won't see that 1ms response time they claim I have seen low like 2.5 and mind you we're talking milliseconds that's faster than a second it also takes 1000ms to make a 1 second cycle, that's not with all because certain gamed aren't optimized for high end graphics. The picture and screen quality is really good I watch a lot of Sci-Fi I watched Dr Strange Multiverse Madness prior to getting the G7 and it was a different experience with the G7 much more detail. FAIR WARNING !!! this monitor gets hot so does the power pack the powers the G7 as I'm typing this 3:49 AM EST it's 78F outside and it's 87F in my room that's not the monitor by itself so if you have a high-powered computer system this monitor will add on to the heat.

Best non-OLED monitor
I replaced an Alienware 1080p monitor with this Samsung 4K and I am using it primarly for work and it has much clearer text for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Keep in mind that you must use Windows magnification of about 200% because leaving Windows in native 4K creates microscopic text which is unreadable. So there is some distortion of text at this level of magnification but the trade-off is worth it compared to using a 1080p monitor. I also tried the monitor with my Xbox Series X and it works as described at 4K and 120hz. The only monitor that would be better is an OLED panel however they are 1.5x the price of this monitor and the current one from Alienware has a fan which reviewers have stated is an annoyance. This monitor seems like a great solution until OLED monitors become less expensive and fanless.

Widely Reported Issue: Black Screen
UPDATE: After 2 years, the monitor power light turns on blue, but the screen is completely black. OSD does not show at all. Customer support does not assist and this is a widely reported issue. First 2 had dead pixel right out the box. This may sound like a rant but the background information on what happened with the item and Amazon customer service should give you an idea of how much I felt this monitor would be worth it to receive a fully non-defective one. Amazon has a weird policy where I have to make a full return and place a new order after the first replacement on this monitor. That took a while cuz I bought it during Prime Day sale and customer service kept giving me incorrect information such as they can easily give me the same deal only to keep me waiting a month to tell me they could not. So I had to wait roughly a month and a half to buy the monitor and I got less of a discount. I even have 5 herniated discs so setting up this monitor and returning them were causing me a significant amount of back pain. That being said, I felt the quality of the monitor for streaming, gaming, and even writing would be worth the trouble for me to get a proper model. The third monitor came flawless and I have truly enjoyed every minute of sitting in front of it. I believe this will be worth it for you as there are only a few other companies that make monitors with these specs at this price range. Just beware that I have seen quite a few reviewers post they had issues with dead pixels as well. Also, all 3 models have a bit of backlight bleeding around the edges, more than most monitors, but it does not really affect the picture quality unless you're looking at pitch black backgrounds. Perhaps that is a defect, but not enough to make me want to return it as I feel it does not affect normal day to day use.

The problem is not the display itself
All the issues talked about concerning blackscreening, random shutdowns, and poor quality, are from using the DP cable provided in the box, I had all of those problems, including artifacting with random lines on the screen. I had bought an HDMI 2.1 cable in preparation for the monitor, believing it would not come with a cable, however it did so I used that one first, it worked at first but was very finicky and had those problems I talked about. So I changed to the HDMI 2.1 cable and it works flawlessly with no problems whatsoever now. For the actual monitor review, the colors do indeed pop, you will have to change the settings yourself however as the standard config is disgusting. Once you get it right though, and Samsung provides a vast amount of options to change your picture to do so, you will love this monitor. The HDR isn't really HDR so I didn't use it. The gaming aspect is great, it is better than most budget high refresh rate monitors in terms of input lag and pixel response times. I did better at overwatch through this monitor despite getting only a resolution boost (I was on 1440p + 144hz before). this is likely because of the vastly superior pixel response times and input lag compared to my cheaper gaming monitors (AOC 34 inch ultrawide), overwatch is very fast paced and fighting can sometimes look like a cartoon brawl pit where all you can see is dust, but with this monitor the pixel response times really help to reduce the amount of motion blur and smearing, meaning it is easier to make sense of what your seeing. For viewing pleasure, it is great, I am coming from a Samsung 4k 32 inch display, I believe the UJ59 or something among those lines. This display is smaller but better. The old display was a VA panel, which is usually well known for their contrast and darkness. This IPS however is actually superior in contrast and dark levels in my opinion. Of course If I had an OLED right next to me I'd probably say otherwise, but compared to my AOC, the AOC looks like a cheap washed out monitor, so much so that my G70A looks OLED by comparison. HDMI 2.1 also supports 4k playback on Netflix for PC, an unexpected but welcome upgrade.

Excellent Monitor with a few notes.
As a 10-year old DVI secondary monitor decided that it was time to go, I did my research to buy this screen. After checking many professional reviews and user reviews on different sites, I did decide to buy the Odyssee G7. I had seen the negative reviews - where people described their issues in technical detail - but also heard all the positive feedback. First of all, my decision for this screen was: I use it for work and gaming. I use it for photography post-production and UI design for work, and after work, I use it as my main gaming monitor. The good: I already used another 4K UHD screen as my main monitor. So I was used to the quality of the screen resolution. Still, this screen impressed me right out of the box with its picture quality and color intensity. The colors are vibrant, the screen is razor-sharp and the blacks are really dark, and light areas really clear - even on lower brightness levels. And that is just using it while working. It really shines when you start up a game. The bad: This screen requires fine-tuning to get it how you want it. Even though it looks amazing right out of the box, you will notice that the default settings will not suffice, and you will want to dive into what kind of ICC profiles you would like to use. If you want to use a simple plug-and-play monitor without tweaking, this might not be your monitor. And let's be honest... this is an expensive screen. I love it. I had the money to spend... but if you don't need G-SYNC, there might be better alternatives. Issues described in other critical reviews: - The stand is unstable: I did not experience this. When correctly assembled the stand I received with the monitor is absolutely sturdy and easy to adjust. - Vertical Light bands on dark/black screens: Absolutely! I saw this in some of the reviews, and yes, I have seen this as well. This happens when the screen turns off the LEDs for areas the screen is not using. It is annoying - but you can turn this off. Once done, it still shows the deep dark of black pixels, but without those bands showing. - G-SYNC issues: I did not experience this. As I have read in other reviews, this might have been related to the latest firmware of the screen or the latest graphics card drivers. Having them both updated worked perfectly fine. However, I am using this on an RTX 3080-Ti card, so I cannot speak for other GPUs. I also have the G-SYNC turned on for both windowed and full-screen without any issues. A final note: The LED/Core Lighting. It is fun to have, and it has an impact when playing games in a dark room. However, it did not really change the color, only the intensity of the LED brightness based on what is going on on-screen. Don't let the Core lighting be your deciding factor for this screen.

Great monitor for 4k gaming
I originally didn’t intend on buying this monitor. As I was wanting the tuf gaming monitor to match my setup. That didn’t work out as the monitor I had received didn’t work. So here I am with the Samsung, my second choice. Happy with it as it’s basically the same besides the LED vs LCD. LED is nice it’s very bright and the brightness doesn’t wash out the colors so it looks beautiful with a little bit of setup on your graphics card control panel. 5 stars as it stands because I also received a perfect screen on this monitor which is a huge plus for me. NO dead pixels. Samsung has beautiful screens that I really think are worth it over features sometimes.

Great 4k Gaming Monitor
I'm switching from a 2k TN panel. My main gripe with my old monitor was terrible black quality and dithering. When looking at this 4k Samsung monitor that what I was trying to have as a feature. The step up from 2k to 4k isn't as impressive as 1080 to 2k, but its still noticeable. When playing in a dark room with scenes that are very dark the picture looks great. I don't have the brightness maxed out since I'm gaming, so you do need to be in a dark room to be able to see details. I haven't noticed any backlight bleed, but I also haven't tried to test that.
