The lamp shades is made of some sort of plastic material and the way in which the shade is folded over and connected to the base is flimsy at best. The shade does not securely connect to the base of the lamp. The lamp base is not very sturdy and is made of plastic as well. Overall, I don't think the lamp was worth what I paid for it.
