Powerful Little Workhorse!
I'm very impressed with this vacuum. The Hoover CH30000 PortaPower is incredibly lightweight and easy to carry, but it doesn't sacrifice power. It has fantastic suction for a compact machine, making quick work of everything from hard floors to small area rugs. The included attachments are useful, and the long cord is a huge plus. This is a durable, reliable commercial unit perfect for home use or small business cleanup. Highly recommend!

Great vacuum!
I have to say I was skeptical about buying such a small vacuum. After unboxing I quickly put the attachments on and to my surprise it worked like a charm. The cord is exceptionally long, so I can go around my large living room and kitchen without having to mess with unplugging. The power is fantastic ,it sweeps through everything quickly. It’s nice and light . I love that I can cary it around, that makes it really convenient. This is a really great vacuum at a good price . It’s very heavy duty yet light enough for anyone having some issues with their hands or back . It makes cleaning a breeze. Good job Hoover!!!

Fantastic vacuum, true commercial quality!
I was a maintenance professional for 5 years and am very experienced with many different types of vacuum cleaners. This is one of the very best vacuums you can buy and performs well above its price point. It runs smooth and quiet, never overheats and will leave your room fresh and clean every time. I have bought three of these for different locations and love their reliability and performance. And the bag holds a lot of dirt without losing suction. If you want a smaller, comfortable, high performance commercial vacuum, this is the one!

Honest Review!
I will start out by saying, I use to work for a cleaning company that used these vacuums in every home. We would clean 5 houses a day, some with animals and some without. I absolutely loved this vacuum then. It made my daily work life so much easier and faster. It's been a few years since then and I decided to buy this vacuum for my home (purchased March 28th, 2019). With all that being said, I will write my review. We recently bought a house with all wood floors. Soon after, we got two dogs. One is short haired, and the other is an extremely floofy 80 pound dog. With winter coming to an end and an installation of a doggy door... our floors have been covered with clouds of dog shed and dirt. I absolutely haaate the feeling of dirt on my feet, it's one of my biggest pet peeves. I had to sweep every single day and even than, dirt and hair would build up in hard to reach areas. Standing there, debating on shaving my dog bald, I remembered this vacuum that I use to love! So I ordered it. The package arrived on time while I was at work and I was so excited to open it up that I rushed home on my lunch break. I'm not sure if it's written somewhere, and to be honest I didn't look.. but I was fully expecting to receive a black vacuum with black attachments(which is what I thought was pictured). This vacuum is grey with white attachments. The floor attachment is much smaller than I remembered, so it doesn't cover as much floor as it use to and the bristles use to cover the entire edge so that your floors wouldn't be scratched and suction would stay strong throughout the attachment (they switched it up for some reason). The larger attachment (which I assume is for carpet) is useless if you have shedding animals. The smaller attachment (which I assume is for stairs) has rubber bristles(may work ok with dog hair but I don't have stairs so idk). The corner attachment is much shorter than the previous version and the furniture attachment is what you would expect. The cord is very long compared to my regular vacuums. And everything did arrive in perfect shape. I bought this vacuum for my hardwood floors so it was important to me that that specific attachment work. I waited two days before vacuuming so that dirt and hair would build up enough so I could see how this vacuum really works. Having a shorter attachment makes the job take a little bit longer but as long as your vacuuming correctly, this vacuum works really well! The suction is great! No scratches so far and I can get under, behind, in between and more with this vacuum!! It sucks up hair really well and after vacuuming my entire 3 bedroom house, my feet feel clean walking around barefoot!! I used this vacuum with the cloth bag it came with because the paper bag adapter is taking longer to get here, but I do suggest getting the paper bags(bags and adapter sold separately). The cloth ones collect everything fine but hair and dirt gets stuck in it and dirt flies everywhere when dumping it. Wearing the vacuum can be a little bit uncomfortable. Walking around with it isn't so bad, but bending over is where it gets the most uncomfortable. I made the strap as long as it could get and it's much more comfortable that way. They do sell a bag that goest with this vacuum and it makes it all much more comfortable if you wanna spend the money. Over all, I really like this vacuum and I think it works great! I wouldve given a 5 if I had received what I was expecting and if the attachments were what I use to use. I'm not really sure why some of the reviews were so bad. It might be that this vacuum works great at first and slowly declines. But for 100 dollars.. this is a great deal. If I do have any issues I will update my review. Otherwise.. enjoy your clean floors!! :D

Excellent little vacuum
This vacuum has more than enough power to deal with a two cat household. Great for hardwood floors and low pile rugs. It has a very long power cord, reusable cloth bag, no need to buy paper bags or belts. Very handy for car interiors too. Highly recommended.

Don't recommend
This was a terrible purchase. There are many much better vacuums for the price, and even lower prices, as I'm now seeing as I search for a new vacuum after only 9 months of using this one. It never worked well, but was somewhat tolerable. I thought i needed to get used to it since I've never used this style before. I really should have returned it instead. It has moderate to low suction on hard floors. It doesn't work on my area rugs without a huge fuss and even then only a little. I don't have carpets, so I can't comment on that. Emptying the bag is awful - it spreads dust everywhere and is impossible to clear out without putting your hands in the bag to remove everything - gross! Nothing is clogged but it loses suction over time (even with poor suction from the start) so now it is pretty much useless. The only positive is the attachments and long cord. The attachments dont help much with no suction in the vacuum, but the attachments themselves are nice. I would definitely not buy again and can't envision this being a worthwhile purchase for anyone. I finally gave up on it and bought an upright vacuum and am loving having suction again, but hate that I had to buy two vacuum cleaners in less than a year.

Made my life easier
Wish i had found this long ago. It's very useful. Surprisingly light and has a shoulder strap that can go on one shoulder or crossbody. Great for doing stairs and awkward places, like getting into the couch and behind furniture. The suction is way better than i was expecting (actually it's great) and the power cord is very long yet easy to put away with it's snap on to the machine strap. No need to coil the cord around and around, just bunch it together and the strap does the rest. The flexible hose is truly flexible (not like my upright Dyson which is stiff and always a fight to work with in small places like furniture upholstery). All the extension tools rotate into place and stay on! and there are two extension wands. So good for spider webs with the unit on my shoulder. I am sure you will find plenty of your own uses for this. I'm glad i have it. Also its a good price.

What a beautiful, useless machine.
I really wanted to love this vacuum. It is beautifully designed, at least if you like a rugged, commercial aesthetic. Pieces click to together in a satisfying way, and the chrome gleams against the gray and orange color scheme. I really enjoyed putting it together. I enjoyed the fact that it is not as loud as my previous Hoover, and the children and cats did not flee the room in terror when I turned it on. However, when it came to using it on our hardwood floors, it did not perform. I felt like I was chasing the dirt around, rather than sucking it up. I had to put my hand over the nozzle to make sure that it really was functioning, and yes, if you place your hand right over the tube, you can feel suction. A moderate amount of suction. I found that if I swept really well ahead of time, it might pick up some of the stray leftover dirt. But forget about anything stuck in the cracks between the floorboards. If I didn't sweep really well, I was on my knees, picking up bits of tissue and stray threads that the vacuum had failed to suck up. With some experimentation, it became clear that the suction was not strong enough to spread over the floor cleaning tools with any effectiveness, and the best result was achieved with the crevice tool or the bare nozzle. Sweeping a 1 inch tube back and forth over the entire surface area of our small home would make vacuuming a long and dull task. Just so you know, if you are purchasing bags to use with this machine, you also need to purchase an adapter, another $10 or so. The adapter is just a funnel with a little rubber band type thing that you roll onto the neck of the bag. When you replace the bag, you are faced with the gaping maw of funnel as you fumble with the rubber band thingy. This wouldn't be a dealbreaker if the machine actually worked, but I was sort of unhappy that I would be faced with staring at/breathing the stuff I just vacuumed off the floor. The vacuum that I'm replacing is nothing fancy, just a 10 year old upright hoover, an unglamorous plasticky and clunky machine whose suction has seen better days. This new Hoover has weaker suction than the 10 year old Hoover. It's going back where it came from. I don't really understand how this product has such good reviews-- it doesn't seem like it would be very much help if you have any real dirt to clean. I don't feel like I have especially high expectations for a vacuum, but if this is the story with vacuums at this price range, I might have to double my budget and splurge on an entry level Miele. In fact, I just did.
