Nisaku NJP801 Yamagatana S Hori Weeding & Digging Knife HRC58 Hardened Japanese Stainless Steel, 7.25-Inch Blade 5.5-Inch Ergonomic Plastic Handle

After the snow melted and rain finally stopped, I found my flower bed and vegetable garden full of thistles and dandelions that have grown to significant sizes. I was looking for an organic way to remove them & luckily came to learn about a tool called Hori Hori Knife. After doing a quick research on the internet, I've learned Nisaku is a producer of the best quality Hori Hori Knife. I also liked how this particular model has a rubber handle for increased durability when others have wooden handles. I decided to give this product a try & it far exceeded my expectations! This tool makes removing thistles and dandelions really easy. I just have to insert it into the soil next to the plant I wish to remove to loosen the root & simply pull it out of the ground. If the root is too deep, I can cut it easily with the serrated side of the tool. Thanks to its shape, the Hori Hori would go into the ground with minimum effort. If I succeed at loosening up soil around a deep root, I was able to pull out the plant with the entire root being intact. This gave me a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction :) I would recommend this tool to anyone who is looking for an effective and non-toxic way to get rid of deep rooted weeds.

Fantastic product! I am so glad I bought this knife. It helped me pulled out and cut an old weed barrier cloth from my lawn. It made my monthly weeding so much easier. Also it is one of Amazon purchases that I will buy again. I have had to stop buying anything with a permeable surface because Amazon insists on spraying all their packages with perfume. Metal does not absorb odor thank goodness!

This is really a great high quality product. I've been using it for about a year now the steel is of high quality as I have dug through so much clay soil with this and the knife edge is still sharp and the blade overall shows little wear. The handle is very comfortable to use. I would buy this again.

Very sturdy and well made. So easy to pop up weeds. CAUTION It is very sharp. Did slice my thumb- I really should not be allowed sharp things LOL

My favorite gardening tool because it slashes through tree roots like butter. Digging holes is a breeze. Sometimes I have to be careful because the tool is too good. I've accidentally hacked a couple of plants while planting. I'm guilty of leaving soil on my tools, but the metal hasn't corroded. I haven't really used the belt feature -- just not my gardening style. But it seems like it would come in handy when camping for small projects like digging and cutting branches.

i love this tool. i wear it on my belt all the time since i am in the yard all day. it's very sharp so be careful using it. i find it difficult to cut branches that are half inch or more. it's great for weeding and cutting stringers on plants,

While the product initially appeared promising with an appealing design and comfortable feel, its structural integrity proved disappointing. The item's fragile construction became evident through its tendency to bend, ultimately leading me to return it for a complete refund. Despite its attractive initial presentation, the subpar build quality rendered the product unsatisfactory.

I discovered these about a year ago when a neighbor saw me struggling to dig holes for daffodil bulbs in very rocky soil. He told me he had a tool that would help and loaned me his Nisaku NJP650. Wow - it made my life much easier. So this year I got my own, deciding to go with ths model because there is more of a defined hilt to help prevent my hand from slipping down onto the blade.
