Blaupunkt SANJOSE 120 6.2-Inch Touch Screen DVD Multimedia Car Stereo Receiver with Bluetooth

I believe people that think they can put in a stereo in their car is a normal thing, well I am an expert and this model as I am using it with a soundstream 4 channel amp is a perfect match and sound very good. FM reception is fine better than my first unit a soundstream double din head unit that had so many software and touch screen issues it was totally unusable a piece of garbage. This unit was easy to use and setup time etc. I don't like the screen with all the stations on it that you have to push the heart icon to access, but it works and you can have many stations. Overall, it may be made in China but it works like the old brands products used to.

Very disappointed with this stereo. First, very very poor radio reception. FM poor, AM almost nonexistent. AM signals are usually so easy to obtain you can use a paperclip instead of an antenna. Not on this radio. I even tried a brand new antenna and cable, still horrible reception - even in a big city like Chicago, autoscan pulled in 3 FM stations! In this same car with the stock radio, I could listen to WLS 100 miles away, but I could barely pull it in at all in the place where it originates. Of course AM radio sounds different than FM, but the one or two stations I managed to pull in sounded horrible, like someone stuffed all of my speakers with pillows. The volume control is very poor as well. Setting the stereo to 1 was too loud if I wanted to have background music and talk to the person in the seat next to me. The only way to improve that was to go to the EQ and drag every control into the negative, this is not what should be needed. Sound quality was just so so, nothing to note. Presets were easy to set up, but disappeared mysteriously after a day. Stereo was wired correctly to retain power when the car was turned off. Maybe I received a bad unit right out of the box, but I will not take the chance to find out by getting a replacement - in fact, I will never even consider a Blaupunkt product. I've had better sound quality, reception, and features in the past from a $35 Walmart stereo (no kidding). I reinstalled the stock stereo in the car, and it sounds like a $5,000 stereo compared to this Blaupunkt dud.

This Blaupunkt is amazing for the price paid. Not available anymore as it would seem to be a discontinued item. That is sad. One great thing to point out is the resistive screen as opposed to the capacitive screens on other units. Resistive allows the wearing of non touch screen gloves. The screen is responsive enough and cannot be falsely triggered like some touch screens. All of the inputs are in the front. USB, Micro SDHC, auxilliary. This is great. I installed this in a 2007 Explorer with no issues using the Matra connection kit. You MUST get the antenna coupler to allow use of the radio. Greatest weakness is the remote. Works very seldom. The IR receiver is a small dot on the upper left side and maybe the remote is faulty or the IR is. All media works in this unit very well. Another good and yet moderately weak pint is the built in microphone. It has one on the upper left and it works, but has weak pickup and can be distorted. There is a hookup in the rear of the unit to attach an external mic. Problem solved. Bluetooth connection is good and the phone app works fine to make and receive calls. For the low low price this is a killer unit. Higher end features and some no frills corners cut on interface do not hurt the phenomenal bang for the buck on this unit. I enjoy my drives to and from work more with this device. 32GB SDHC cards are the go to for media source. One corner cut is the lack of a multi band EQ. My biggest issue is the faulty remote control. A feature I enjoyed in a previous unit I no longer have. This is a killer unit for the price.

It arrived on time and looks great in my dash. I haven't finished the speaker wiring yet so I can't attest to the sound. DVD works great but the touch screen seems a bit awkward. Overall a bargain for the price.

I was looking to change the radio in my new-to-me 2003 Subaru Forester X, I didn't need all the crazy features, like Android Auto/Carplay, Sirius XM, Navigation, so I went with this unit, expecting that it would be able to play discs, listen to the radio, and connect to my phone. Let's take a look at all of the things that someone may want to know about this: Installation : Notwithstanding the car model intricacies, the installation was pretty easy when partnered with a wiring harness for my car. It's a full size double DIN unit, so it wasn't an easy slide in, but wasn't difficult knowing what I was getting into. Controls : The interface on the screen is a little wonky. It's hard to change anything without taking eyes off the road, as there's no touch feedback, just on screen prompts. The volume/power dial is also very tiny and sits way too close to the trim. Radio : The reception is adequate on both the AM and FM bands, it's a little weak on some of the low-powered stations that I listen to, but for the most part reception does its part. As for the display, it's very awkward with the simulated dial being a focal part of the screen. I would have designed it differently, using the space for more prominent numbers, tuning controls, and potentially RDS/RT information. Phone Link : This screen mirroring works with my Android Phone, but is just very odd, especially having to download an app from the Play Store that is fully in Chinese. SD Card Playback : I inserted a 128 GB Micro SD Card into the slot, with thousands of songs and podcasts on it. However, less than 200 were found, even after the entire card was changes so that they were all in .MP3 format. Something is far from right here. Disc Use : Discs don't eject from the unit unless you use some type of guide, like a second disc or a credit card. This makes disc playback UNUSEABLE! If you want to play discs, avoid! MP3 (Digital Audio) Playback : Again, the interface controls are less than intuitive. The quality of playback is what would be expected from the files, so if the quality of the file is junk, it sounds like it; but if the quality is good, it sounds alright. The display of album cover if available and file ID is there, and display of it is nothing special, just very utilitarian. My other complaint that doesn't surface in the notes is that there's a cycling of colour LEDs on the control buttons, with no apparent way of shutting it off. Not an optimal experience. Very nice unit. Easy to install and worked great right out of the box. Have had it for over a month now and seems to be good quality. The power output was better than expected. I am running two small truck box speakers from it with no amp and has plenty of power with good sound quality.

Sound is mediocre at best, usability is clunky but it works and fits in a double-din opening. For $87, I feel like its a good value.

So far, disappointing. Volume adjust is jumpy, it's either too loud or too low. Sometimes it turns down when turning it up. Screen looks cheap and so does the unit. I guess it is what I paid for though. The FM tuner is worse than my stock stereo. *** Update*** only the radio and DVD work now, the screen faded out when I try to select another screen, I can no longer use the backup camera or blue tooth functions.
