Works as described.
This works exactly as described. The balloon assists with “popping” the eardrum so it will get rid of the muffled sound in your ear. This helped me to hear better. My doctor said I had eustachian tube dysfunction and this helped to correct that by equalizing the pressure. It creates that same sensation as when your ears pop when flying.

This works amazing for tube dysfunction
I was really skeptical about this product. I have eustachian tube dysfunction. My ears pop all the time. If I get any sort of sinus thing, it almost always affects my ears. I have had colds turn to partial deafness for over a month. Once I lost my hearing for almost 3 months. I've had tubes put in, then taken out, I've had nose surgery too, and I see an ENT regularly. There's pretty much nothing they can do to stop my hearing problems. This is just the hand I was dealt. I bought this out of desperation after losing my hearing again earlier this year from a cold. The reviews were all over the place. I received it and I agree that it's a relatively inexpensive thing; you get literally a bunch of branded balloons and a plastic blower. So yeah, it probably only costs a few dollars to make and it's crazy to pay $20+ for it. But if you can't hear and you're desperate, well I can tell you it works! You cover one nostril and blow and oh my goodness, the relief is immediate. I have used this dozens of times. I never travel without it. While sometimes it does take several attempts to pop my ear, it will pop it. I know it's weird and again, it's expensive for what you're getting, but the fact that it somehow is able to release the pressure is worth it to me. I've used it while sick and just for times that somehow my ear has popped and I can't hear right. So much better than praying to yawn or hoping meds work, this is something you can actively do and it works quickly. Highly recommend!

Sensitive to side effects...update.....
PA recommend I try this for ETD. First round, I used as directed but after about a week after each use I got a pressure headache, dizziness to the point I thought it had exacerbated BPPV and hard to concentrate on anything. So I had to quit using it. It did slightly relieve congestion but the side effects were too much. That being said, I found a DC on YouTube and his exercises worked!!!! The second time I attempted to use the otovent after ETD returned the same side effects returned so I'm going to try PT I found before. Update.....I'm trying this again and it is working. Just have to push through and keep it up. I'm not sure what is different or if just a timing thing.

I just bought this and need advice
Can someone please help me. I had fluid behind the ear seven plus weeks ago and am still suffering from eustachian tube dysfunction in my right ear, having slight pressure and muffling. It has caused me daily anxiety, depression and worry about when it will resolve. I have already had steroid treatment, and used various recommended medications, but it still hangs on. I have also bought a Eustachi and used it a number of times, but it seems to only be opening the tube in my good ear. When using on the good ear right after swallowing, the sound of the fan in the Eustachi becomes suddenly very loud and you feel the air moving through. On the affected ear it does not seem to do that. So I think it's not popping open the tube in my right ear. It scares me somewhat to use the Otovent. I could not blow up the balloon with my nose on the first few tries. There was so much pressure inside my sinuses trying to do it. I am worried about the amount of pressure it will force into my ear. Can anyone please give me some advice or feedback? I know this is not an actual review, but if I can use this product successfully, I will come back and do another review.

Does it work? Yes. Over priced? Probably.
I was having issue with eustachian tube in my left ear for about a year now. I could pop it, but it wasn't feeling better. I've always had sinus issues, so decided to give this a try. It's just balloons and a plastic part, but it did work. It's a pre-packaged thing you could probably do with just using a balloon from the dollar store. But hell, it did help and my ear finally feels better.

Extremely useful. It saved me from surgery and expensive treatments.
Phenomenal product. I've been using it for years. Nothing else comes close in terms of efficacy or cost. For those that can't figure out how to use it properly, most likely, you can't figure out how to use the toilet properly either.

It works but you have to stick with it and give it time to work
I couldn’t blow the balloon with just the air from my nose, so I used my mouth on the plastic piece to blow up the balloon a bit, pinched the balloon closed, up to the nostril, and continued on per instructions. I did it a few times a day for several days. It worked and my ears are clear again. No ear tubes for me! Box was beat up but materials were fine. And definitely read the instructions first so you put the balloon on the correct end of the plastic part (unlike me :D).

This really works!
I consider this product to be miraculous. I have had totally blocked ears for more than three months and it was driving me insane. I was faced with either balloon dilation of my eustachian tubes or ear tubes again which I was very reluctant to do because the last time I had ear tubes it took them five years to heal up. I tried all kinds of eustachian tube-opening exercises with herbal oils and massage, and they did not help me at all. My ears became increasingly congested until I finally found this product. It took several weeks to unblock my ears, but after each use, I could feel a little bit of moisture in my nasal passages. It took a while to learn to use, and I did use it faithfully at least three or four times a day initially. I was able to back off after the first two weeks to fewer times. I did not experience relief for the first few days, but I did notice that my hearing was improving so that gave me incentive to continue. If you’re really having trouble with your station to blockage I encourage you to try this product. It’s inexpensive , and it works !

My Doctor recommended it for a plugged ear tube. Wow! I am very impressed how well it works and its safe for children as well. Perfect if you travel a lot on airplanes too. It made a huge difference, improved my hearing right away and even decreased my ringing ears. It is very easy to use. I would highly recommend it.

It definitely looks strange but it WORKS!! My kids have a hard time with their ears when flying and frequently end up in tears because their ears won’t ‘pop’. This product is a game changer!!!! Our last two flights they used this and they were able to ‘pop’ their ears easily! 10 out of 10 recommended!!
