How close should the Quilting distance be?

When I make a quilt I embroider it then I put the batting in between the front and back of the quilt and I see, with a sewing machine the batting and the two halves together. I then put staying stitches every 6 inches or so, stitching the front and back together so the batting stays in place. I hope that’s what you’re asking

using in pond filter can this product be washed and cleaned?

The product is a quilt batting. So when it is in a quilt it can be laundered without issue. But without being stitched between fabric layers it might not hold up to being washed. I had problems with the ridiculous amount of lint produced when working with the dry batting. For that reason I have my doubts about it staying together when laundered on its own. I would also worry about the amount of lint that would get trapped in the dryer vent. Personally I would not chance it. I absolutely hated this product.

Awesome quilt batting!! This is a high quality, 100% cotton batting that is very economical. I bought the 108inch and its accurate size. The batting is soft and flexible, has a really nice drape. It’s not super stiff like some cotton battings. It was really easy to work with, very easy to cut and definitely easy to quilt through (machine quilt, haven’t tried hand quilting with it yet). Nice thickness, no smells. No instructions but based off experience I would recommend quilting lines no farther than 4 inches apart. Machine washable on gentle cycle, dry on low heat. All in all a great batting that I will continue to use

I have been a quilter for over 35 years, have owned a quilt shop and am now a professional long-arm quilter. I ordered the 300 grm. weight. I wanted high loft that is soft. Opened the batting completely and let it breathe for 2-3 days. The loft came to 1/2 inch and the size increased from the order description (71x79)inch to 76x85 inches! Absolutely the most soft, light and beautiful batting I've ever come across in all my years except wool that doesn't have the loft. Because I am a long-arm quilter I put the batting on a frame and do not handle it much. Note: Hand quilters should handle gently - after basting your quilt bring the backing fabric over the edges of your quilt top and batting and lightly baste to cover and protect the edges of of your batting. Hand quilting is a longer process and your unfinished quilt + batting will have a lot of handling. But it is well worth the extra attention. I have bought more, did I say the price is GREAT, and no, I do not work for this company :o)

I use a double thickness for homemade potholders with cotton fabric. It's worked great so far.
