Even before the show when they put a face on him I loved him! Of course I'm a sucker for bad boys lol! In this book they all head for college, all deciding to go to the same one to stay together and protect each other even though Matt and Meredith would have liked to go somewhere else. And it's a good thing they all ended up at the same one because, once again, trouble follows them! Murders and disappearances on the campus that they cannot ignore. A mysterious fraternity, werewolves, the whole nine yards! But of course they have it all under control...or do they? Bonnie even falls in love, but is he a good guy or a bad guy? And, of course the love triangle between Elena, Damon, and Stephan continues. Once again a very good Vampire Diaries book. However I do hope that Smith doesn't continue this series just because of the popularity of it or because of the show. It's getting easier and easier to figure out the ending with each new book:( I really enjoy them but don't ruin a good series by continuing it just because you feel you have to to the point of ruining it and what makes it special! Evil never dies. . . . After escaping the horrors of the Dark Dimension, Elena can′t wait to attend Dalcrest College, the beautiful ivy-covered campus where her parents met. Life with Stefan is better than ever, and even Damon seems genuinely changed and is getting along with everyone. But moving away from Fell′s Church doesn′t mean she and her friends are free from danger. When students start to disappear from campus, suddenly every new acquaintance is a potential enemy. Then Elena uncovers a long-hidden secret, one that shocks her to the core, and realizes tragedy may be unavoidable.

Enjoyable
Though I love both versions this gives even more. Elena and Stephan works, but Elena and Damon really works too. Love the wings, and Guardians aspect of this story, but miss Carolina as she is replaced by Meredith

Entertaining
For a long time I looked forward to this book and I loved most of it. Elena along with her friends and of course Stefan and Damon are headed off to college, each hoping for a fun normal experience. But all too soon they find out that things are not normal on this campus, students begin to disappear. Matt is asked to join the the Vitale a mysterious secret society. All the while Elena struggles between choosing either Stefan or Damon. I love the Vampire Diaries series overall, but this one seemed to have a slower pace, it was not as heartstopping as the other ones, yet still entertaining. The ending left us hanging, so of course I am left wanting more.

I'm in love with this series!
I love the story. It's not all about blood and gore like people might think. Yes, it definitely has a lot of blood and gore, but it also has an amazing, well thought out, incredibly creative story. I just wish that Damon and Elena would finally get together. I'm currently watching the tv show for it so I'm IN LOVE with Delena and Damon especially. I'd recommend this series for anyone who is into love stories bc this definitely has a lot of love in it. I'm Hayley and I'm 12. I'm extremely smart for my age and I'm a bookworm. Stories excite me and take me to different places. They help me escape from the real world although I daydream a lot like a lot a lot. Like it's all I do it think about. This book could have been better. It could have been different. But it would be tremendously longer and it would be hard to read in one lifetime. This series is FANTASTIC!!! The only thing that could make it better is MORE DAMON AND ELENA relationship more than friends!!!

Wonderful Edition to Series
To all potential readers, almost every negative review I've read here is directed more towards the unfortunate firing of LJ Smith than towards the actual book. Make no mistake, Smith and the ghostwriter have different writing styles, which in my opinion, is not a bad thing. Unlike the Smith novels, Moonsong was a fast, fun read, well-paced and character-driven. If you read TVD novels for the romance and you're dedicated to a particular pairing more than likely a third of you will not be happy. If you read the TVD novels for all of the wonderful characters, this book and it's follow on, Destiny Rising, is for you. Definitely a five-star!

It was good
I liked this book but I think the new author could have done better really I really would like bonnie and damon together and for bonnie to start using witch magic to move things or create them to show everyone that she is powerful and can do more things than them and fight with them with magic. I think bonnie has more power than she thinks and she would be more flirting with damon and stuff not so shy and quiet I really hope the next book reflects more on bonnie and her powers and damon.

Good Series
The series definitely has a few times where you're raising your eyebrow but all in all its great fun! I love this series and I was glad to find they'd continued from the original series. I just love Damon! I think he has much more character depth than Stephan and maybe even Elena. Either way though, if you are a fan of the original series you'll enjoy the rest.

I have read all of the books in the vampire diaries series and have found each of them just as exciting as the last! I love these books so when I heard about this next instalment I was chomping at the bit to get the book and get reading. However I wasn't sure what to expect as the last book wasn't left on a cliff hanger as usual. Usually I've been left dangling for so long waiting to find out what's happening next I read the book within a 2 or 3 days, not to say I wasn't just as eager at starting this book. For me this book longer than normal to suck me in - possibly because it isn't set in Mystic Falls they have all gone on to college so we have had the scene set for us all over again! But once you move past this and get on with the actual story it becomes yet another thrilling instalment in an already fantastic series! This book offers so much more to each of the individual characters, it's not all about the Stefan, Elena & Damon Love triangle. Don't get me wrong that's still there and it's interesting to see how it progresses each time, but it was nice to see the other characters developing and growing along with the series. We learn so much more about the others strengths and weaknesses and see that they aren't just a sub-plot to help the story along. I could go on and on about this but i don't want to ruin the story for anybody wanting to read! In my opinion this book offers so much more than some of the earlier books - it's almost like starting the series all over again! It's got a new light to it, even though L.J Smith hasn't written this one herself (and this is obvious throughout) i don't feel we have lost anything from the story or the characters as some other people are suggesting. I would much prefer to see her finish her own creation - but I don't feel let down by this book either. All in all a great read and don't let others put you off if you're a fan of the series try it, you never know you might like it and you haven't lost much if you don't! Don't be left wondering if you've missed out!
