Works Just Fine, Computer Charges Now, but Word of Caution
I had an Asus 731gw laptop that was dying do to the female part of the barrel giving out. During the repair, I had to remove the old barrel receptacle, but it absolutely would not desolder. DO NOT ATTEMPT WHAT I DID NEXT. I was short on cash, and couldn't afford to take it in to a professional, so I used a dremel to drill out the solder from the holes in the PCB where the receptacle was mounted. I REPEAT, DO NOT DO THIS. I was desperate, and decided to perform the computer equivalent of brain surgery, knowing full well the high risks. I knew it was a likely a bad idea going in, and it turns out it was, no fault of this connector though. Once I soldered on the new receptacle, the laptop worked and charged just fine. It worked great, happily providing 200W+ to my gaming laptop. However, my dremeling came back to bite me a couple weeks later. One of the PCB walls got shaved a little too thin during my drilling with the dremel, which eventually caused an internal short pretty much straight from positive to ground, through maybe a few capacitors and resistors. And with that, the laptop was emitted the magic smoke and died forever, through no fault of this replacement of course. The blame is all mine. If you have better desoldering equipment for high temp desoldering and the skills to do it, go for it. This replacement will work just fine. However, ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DRILL INTO YOUR MOTHERBOARD. If you do not have the skills nor proper equipment to desolder the previous receptacle yourself, just take your computer to a professional.

Works like a charm
Had to do a charging port replacement on an Asus ROG laptop and this component did the trick. Asus has had a lot of QA problems and after finishing the repair and examining the old charging component i see why. 10/10 this is a good quality component and after extensive testing held up very well

Not Compatible with Asus UX580G – Beware!
I purchased this DC jack expecting it to fit my Asus UX580G laptop, but unfortunately, it does not. The geometry of this DC jack is different from the original, resulting in a mismatch when soldered to the motherboard. As a result, the hole for the jack does not align with the opening on the laptop case. I've attached a photo comparing the original Asus DC jack with this one to illustrate the difference. If you're looking for a reliable replacement, I would recommend searching for a compatible part instead. Save yourself the hassle!
