B450-XT Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headset – Industry Leading Sound with Long Wireless Range, Extreme Comfort and Up to 24 Hours of Talk Time

I recently lost some hearing. I need a headset to clearly hear my cellphone. I tried other earphones that fit in the ear or use an ear loop. Those didn't work out. They wouldn't fit right. Or, they wouldn't sound good. Even worse, it would fall out or off my ear and I would lose it. I've owned a pair of Blue Parrot headphones, before, about 20 years ago. They came with Dragon dictation software. Blue Parrot made high-quality products then. And, they still do, today. This headset slips over the head. It comes with a leather ear muff already on and has a foam muff as a spare. The boom mic is adjustable. Just pair the headset to your cellphone, or other bluetooth device, and it works. I also paired this set to an Amazon Fire tablet and an Acer Chromebook. You can pair it to up to 8 different devices with 2 active at a time. For example, pair it to your cellphone and your tablet. If a call comes in on your cellphone, you can still take the call on your headset. The audio quality is the best I've ever heard from a wireless headset. Nice and clear. The large sound drivers, compared to the small ones that fit inside the ear, probably have much to do with the improved sound. It does have DSP noise cancelling, which works rather well. In the past, I've found that mics with DSP noise cancelling would sound "digital". This one has no digital artifacts, at all! It actually sounds very natural. People on the other end tell me I sound very clear. Battery life is pretty good. I listen to the audio from streaming videos or online television, for a few hours, every day. A voice prompt will tell you if the battery is running low. Charge it overnight and you'll have no problem the next day. Some Android devices will tell you the percentage of battery life remaining. For most people, battery life should not be an issue. The battery is not user-replaceable, however. The buttons are nice and big. So, you can easily find them while you are driving. There are buttons for volume up and down, a multi-function button that powers it on and off and sets it into pairing mode. There is also a Parrot button that you can program to do other things. By default, it's set to mute your mic. I downloaded the software for Windows. It lets you update the firmware and set various options. There was no firmware update for my unit. I did not install the Android app. Although this headset is marketed to truck drivers, it can be used by anyone that needs to wear a headset for long periods of time. I can see office workers or call center workers using this. A stereo unit would be great. However, one ear needs to be open to hear the road while driving. Build quality seems pretty good. I believe this headset should last a few years. The company sells parts, like wind screens for the microphone and spare ear muffs. I called the company before I purchased. The rep was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I only have 2 gripes about this headset: 1. The wireless range isn't as good as other sets I've used in the past. It's not a deal-breaker. But, if you leave your cellphone on the table while you pour yourself a cup of coffee in the kitchen, the sound might drop out until you return. 2. The price. I understand quality costs more. Luckily, Amazon sells this headset for less than MSRP. I highly recommend.

Don't be discouraged by the negative reviews. This is a solid and well constructed headset that performs flawlessly. Yes, the mic boom could or should have been placed on the outside of the headband; but, for most users, the boom will remain in the same position day in and out, so it is a moot point. The audio quality is superb, both in the earpiece and for the caller on the other end, all things considered. Battery life just goes on forever, and it was brain dead simple to pair with both my MacBook Pro and my iPhone. I can't speak to noise cancelation as I've not tested that particular feature, but no complaints from callers with respect to extraneous noise. This was a solid purchase with absolutely no regrets. Five stars! UPDATE: July 13, 2015 -- I am still enjoying the B350-XT but decided to give it a head-to-head test against a formidable competitor. So, as a backup headset, I decided to purchase a Sennheiser MB Pro 2, which has excellent customer marks and reviews, and put the two to a test. Surprisingly, in my very subjective test, the BlueParrott B350-XT provided noticeably better in-ear sound quality as well as clearer diction through the mic than the Sennheiser MB Pro 2 is able to provide. Both have a very slight graininess to the vocal quality in-ear (every Bluetooth headset does due to the low-bandwidth codecs they use), but the BlueParrott is slightly clearer and more understandable. I was not expecting this result as I'm a long-standing fan of Sennheiser, and have used their products for nearly forty years; my money was on the Sennies. While both headsets are good, I definitely give credit to the BlueParrott team -- they have produced a truly excellent and usable headset in the B350-XT, and it remains my "go to" headset.

If i could give 10 stars i would. Very durable. Not to bulky or hideous to wear. Beyond the expected. Bettery life is great. Length of life is betond the extraordinary. 2 and 1/2 years and still work like they did the firat day. Amazing sound and comfort. A must buy especially if you have to wer it everyday. This was bought for a truck driver that has to wear a head set. The majority of everyday. He was worried that the over the ear cup would hurt his ear but it did not. He says it is very lightweight and comfortable so much that he forgets hes wearing it sometimes. His other in the ear buds always gave him a nagging nerve pain that would last hours even after taking it out and he wont go back to that style for that reason. These headphones also cancel out majority of the noise so he can actually hear what people are saying while still allowing him to hear traffic and what not around him. Also as the other peraon talking to him they can hear him alot better than tbey used too. Also when hes listening to gps or music from his phoen it comes in clear and loud and has amazing sound quality and bass. Made very very well. Extremely burable. He has broken several in the past just taking them off and on all the time. He has used these now daily for over 2 years and they still hold an extremely long charge (other ones would not even last a whole day without having to recharge) and only has to recharge once maybe twice a week at most.

For a long time I have been looking for a dependable and quality headphone for my calls and kind of gave up. I tried the expensive ones up to $100 or so Plantronics bluetooth headset with a boom mic and a fancy charger that came with it. The persons on the other end of line would have hard time hearing me out and would rather cut the conversation short. It was so depressing at times. Then I bought one car visor speakerphone that served the purpose to some extent but, again, with same issue. It would connect or disconnect on its own, sometimes, it would just not let the audio route through itself or phone. As a real estate agent, I needed something better and when my business coach told me to go get a high quality one as he didn't like my audio at his end, I checked on Amazon.ca. I read reviews of BlueParrot B350XT and was kind of motivated to get one. Bingo! This turned out to not only meet my expectations, but way exceeded them. I tried it in noisy surroundings with my car radio on loud volume and window open, the person receiving my call never complained of anything. I ran a test audio and I have that clip on Facebook that shows its performance with a loud music behind. You won't believe it. The quality is 10/10. This actually kills all the surrounding noise. They say it removes 96% ambient noise, I would rate that at 100%. So wonderful and so happy that I bought it. With phone kept on charging on the upper level and I talking over this headset, there was no loss of audio quality. I have set my phone to announce incoming calls and know if I have to pick it up or not. So, you can be way away from your phone but still be able to talk. I will see if it works when I go shopping and forget it in my car. I am going to run a test on that too, soon. Well, it may not be fancy for many, but if quality of communication is your main requirement, go for it.

Not good for noise canceling, people on other end can hear background noise on my side

Ich habe es erst nach dem Lesen aller verfügbaren Bewertungen gekauft und muss gestehen, dass ich ein wenig Zweifel hatte. Insbesondere das wiederholt kritisierte Gewicht und der fehlende Tragekomfort hatten mich unsicher gemacht. ich bin Vielfahrer und auch viel mit dem Wohnmobil unterwegs, muss aber beruflich viel telefonieren. Dabei war mir wichtig, dass man als Gesprächspartner im Hintergrund nicht wahrnimmt, dass ich im Auto sitze. Wichtig war mir also die Geräuschunterdrückung und eine möglichst lange Standzeit. Merin Fazit: Ja, es ist richtig, dass es schwerer und vielleicht auch ein wenig unbequemer ist, als manch andere Headsets. Mit dieser Befürchtung habe ich es jetzt mittlerweile etliche Tage und unzählige Telefonate lang getestet. Selbst im Wohnmobil auf der Autobahn bei höheren Geschwindigkeiten und eingestelltem Radio hat niemand erkannt, dass ich im Auto sitze. Die Geräuschunterdrückung ist großartig und die Verständigung eine glatte 1. Nach 2 oder mehr Stunden am Ohr hat es dann wirklich ein wenig gedrückt. Ich habe es gelöst, indem ich es ganz einfach umgedreht und die Ohrmuschel auf die andere Seite gemacht habe. Das ist mit einem einfachen Umdrehen des Speakers möglich. Nach weiteren Stunden Dauertelefonierens habe ich es dann eben einfach wieder zurück gestellt. Mittlerweile habe ich mich so daran gewöhnt, dass es dauerhaft auf einem Ohr bleiben kann. Oft vergesse ich sogar das Abnehmen und steige mit Headset aus. Es war ein absoluter Top-Kauf und ich würde es immer wieder nehmen. Ich habe etliche Systeme probiert, die alle wegen miserabler Sprachqualität nicht weiter in Frage kamen. Hier eine absolute Kaufempfehlung für diejenigen, die in lauter Umgebung telefonieren müssen und nicht wollen, dass man das Auto (und wenn es noch so laut ist) hören kann und dabei eine wirklich excellente Sprachqualität haben möchten. Ich bin total begeistert. Ach ja .... und zu der Standzeit, die mir auch wichtig war: Ich kann tagelang unterwegs sein und habe jedes Mal immer erst nach meiner Rückkehr das Ladekabel angeschlossen. Die Akkuleistung hält tatsächlich einige Tage ohne Probleme. ich habe die Stunden nicht gezählt, kann aber versichern, dass es etliche Tage mit unzähligen Gesprächen ohne zwischenzeitliches Laden funktioniert. Unglaublich gut für einen akzeptablen Preis. Ich habe bisher noch nichts Besseres gefunden und erlebt.

Amazing mic noise suppression to almost completely cut out sound from your end. Great battery life. Sturdy and well designed. Only complaint - a little uncomfortable with a lot of clamp force on the head. Hopefully will loosen up with use.

Nachdem mir meine Gesprächspartner immer wieder berichteten, dass ich mit meinem bisherigen Headset (Plantronics Voyager) nur sehr undeutlich und abgehackt bei ihnen ankomme, habe ich mir gestern das VXi BlueParrott B350XT bestellt. Es kam heute morgen an. Ich habe es ausgepackt, eingeschaltet und war schon noch zwei Minuten mit meinem Smartphone verbunden. Keine 5 Minuten später rief mich zufälligerweise ein Kollege an und ich konnte mich gleich nach der Sprachqualität erkundigen. Seine Aussage: Hervorragend! Es sei nicht zu merken, dass ich mit einem Headset telefoniere. Ich habe dann anschließend mich selbst auf dem Festnetz angerufen und das mit dem Anrufbeantworter aufgezeichnet und ich muss sagen der Kollege hat recht. Es funktioniert ausgezeichnet. Die Sprachqualität die beim Gesprächspartner ankommt ist wirklich ausgezeichnet. Ich habe auch mal ausprobiert, was passiert, wenn ich das Radio mit hoher Lautstärke einschalte und tatsächlich: die Nebengeräuschunterdrückung ist so gut, dass man nur erahnen kann, dass das da ein Radio läuft (so hab ich es jedenfalls auf der Aufzeichnung meines Anrufbeantworters wahrgenommen). Mein erstes (schnelles) Fazit: Super Headset. Absolut zu empfehlen.
