As the owner of a BRAND NEW (to me) 2014 Focus ST Iv been going a little crazy getting all the new fun things I need. This car has a little over 100k miles on it and I wanted to find a nice air freshener. Chem Guys make a ton of products with “New Car Smell” and “Leather” being the top 2 selling. amazon reviews general consensus: New car smell - “plastic chemicals 😕” leather - “smells just like new leather! 🤩” JDM - “Smells like soap 😕” I decided to get the 2 pk of new car and leather, and based off reviews I thought the leather would be the best. Leather- Well, Not for this guy. The leather smells like fake leather chemicals to me. Very displeasing to me personally. Not a fan at all. Worst of the three. New car smell - Actually smells decent. I could live with it. Way better than the leather. If you just want “new car smell” and nothing adventurous this one is good. After being disappointed by leather and feeling “okay” with new car smell, I decided to round back and order JDM. Sure I can live with “new car smell” but im in a STAGE 1-2 MODDED 350hp wastegate PSHHHing fwd 2.0 TURBSKI spooling RALLY CAR. JDM- Imagine, its 9:30pm on a friday and you are at Daikoku PA. You walk amongst legends. Neon lights. Wastegates. Subs. Anime Waifu wraps. You connect with a cutie, and she likes your ST. She wants to go get late night ramen. She hops in the passenger. She takes a sniff and disheartenment fills her face. She looks up at you with disappointment in her eyes. She says “..really?…new car smell?” She opens the door and walks away. This is where JDM comes in. The smell of JDM is the smell of daikoku pa @ 9:30 pm on a friday night in a bottle. The smell of good times and happiness. The smell of a cutie in your passenger seat. Youre welcome anon.

This companies SIGNATURE scent is...squash lol. But I love it. I valet my car for work and ever so often someone who maybe had a garlic pizza for lunch or maybe has some plumbing issues at home brings up my car. I spray two spritz on the passenger carpet and leave the window open. By time I get to the next corner after leaving the garage, I can close the window and it only has the nice squash scent left. Nice. Warning though - do NOT spray more than a couple of sprays even if you don't immediately smell it - it takes a few seconds for the smell to reach you. I almost died after using it the first time and sprayed it like 6 times.

It has the citrus smell at first but then turns to something else I cannot describe. It has its own smell, maybe it has some coconut or something way in the back but whatever it is it smells amazing. I can't stop using it. This may be one of those things that only some people will like, but y opinion is that it smells fresh and clean with some small bits of fruity in there. I sprayed my whole car and smell doesn't last too long but you can still smell it a little bit after a couple of days. I would really recommend this.

Never smelled the squash air frshener from Japan this is based on, so I can't comment on how it compares to that. But this stuff just smells like soap. Irish Spring or something. Not the worst smell, but not what I want my car to smell like. Anyway, waste of money.

Doesn't smell like squash. More of a soapy scent. Not bad, just not what I expected.
