Good reliable printer so far, very quick. A bit noisy and likes to clean itself at all hours, but that's not an issue for me. The colour printing on inkjet paper is excellent. Easy top connect and control over wireless. Large ink cartridges are available as well, minimising changes. Works on Apple AirPrint too!

Absolutely brilliant printer - prints from any device (via wi-fi), lovely print quality, very fast, and no-fuss double-sided printing. So much better than my old Brother, which was actually pretty good. The set-up was weird and fiddly, but, once it's done, everything just works! I could never get wi-fi to work consistantly on my old printer and double-sided printing was a right faff, but this one just does it all automatically. It's also blindingly fast and excellent quality. I wish I'd upgraded years ago!The one drawback in the cartidges - even the non-Brother ones are much more expensive than I was used to with the old printer, and a lot less easy to get hold off. Overall, though, even with more expensive carts, this is a lovely printer, very easy to use, and just does everything you want, at high speed and quality, and with no fuss. If only everything worked like this!

The printer arrived within the time frame given and was securely packaged. The control panel can be viewed in the vertical plane or any one of three other positions which can be useful. The controls are easily visible and to operate with various operating modes visible on an illuminated digitised screen. As with most electronic items theses days there was no instruction manual or USB lead included which I find annoying but there an accompanying disc (which I have not used as yet). They were with my previous Brother Printer. There was no setting up required when plugged into my computer as had been the previous need, all that was required was to connect the printer to the computed with the USB lead and it was done. I am operating Windows 10 so how it might work out with another system I can't say. I have not as yet tried all the printer functions and have not tried setting up the Wi-Fi as I have no need for the time being.The printing is clear and crisp both text and images with good colour. It is a compact unit and sits easily on the top of a e.g. filing cabinet. It has a card slot to directly download images if required. It also has a very convenient feature of being able to print double sided which for the price I found none that could do this. The paper tray does not appear as robust as with my previous Brother Printer, this one being all plastic and feels a little flimsy, however, as with most things plastic and it not meant for industrial use does it really matter? For this reason and the lack of USB lead and a manual (which can be accessed from the Brother web site) I only gave 4 stars otherwise it would have been 5 stars. I am only a home user but before I made the purchase I did a reasonable amount of research and although there are cheaper models, for what this printer offers, with the customer service backup as first viewed on the Amazon website (which I have now tested and found most responsive) and from owning a previous Brother Printer for several years I would certainly recommend this M/C.

Replaced a very older Brother printer with this one.The printer has worked for 10 years with not bother, but now the LED screen does not repond to touch, so I bought a new Brother.This one was very simple and quick to start up, add cartridges (which are full size unlike HP and canon starter ones) and connected to the wifi instantly.I was able to print as soon as I installed program on my three computers.This also prints right off from iPhone and the iPad.An app does let you scan direct to the IPad, where it is most useful.Ink is a reasonable price and 3rd party inks work too, unlike HP.I have installed HP printers for Age UK and I would NOT recommend them at all, so difficult to install, none of the users could do it and I struggled too. Epson, are pretty good though.The build quality on this printer is more slight than my older printer, ie thinner plastic, the paper receiver is weaker, I hope this lasts as long!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from a printer installer expert of AGE UK
