They work great and I would recommend them , however I cannot figure out what the pink handle thing is used for. Can anyone tell me, it's not included in the directions.

Very easy to use, straightforward instructions and they work! I took a pair of shearling lined leather slippers that accidentally ended up in the washing machine. They were allowed to air dry but once they were put back in use they had clearly shrunk. after wetting them and using these shoe stretchers (twice) the slippers are as good as new! This tool is really sturdy, this will do a few generations

I bought several new pairs of shoes and didn't want to leave them with the shoe repair place. I have one foot that is slightly larger than the other and I wanted to control the stretching myself. This shoe widener is very easy to use. It took about 2 minutes to get it in the shoe and positioned correctly. It is great having a shoe stretcher at home. I don't know why I didn't buy one earlier! It took 2 days - following the instructions - to slowly stretch out the shoe to the correct width. I recommend this product.
