I have a L5, S1 disc bulge. This has helped me so much where I find it's best to use when you have warm muscles hence I use it after having a shower. My Chiro said it also stretches the muscles, so if you have tight back muscles like I usually do, it will stop your back muscles from becoming tight and causing back pain. I used to get a massage every 2-4 weeks but I have stopped since using this device. It mainly decompresses the spine where I've been using a device like this with my Chiro. His is way more expensive where I lay on a bed, and I'm hooked up to a machine that pulls then releases. The quality of this product is excellent. It feels very expensive with solid parts. I know I will continue to have back issues later cause I'm getting old, but I'm glad I have something that excellent quality hence it should last a long time.

So there aren't any real directions with this table. My back is a POS, and I was told ten years ago I should get pins, rods, and screws in my lower back. Um no thanks. So I have delt with this POS back of mine. Especially my lower back. I felt relief and improvement the very next day after proper use. Key thing is "proper use". After I figured out how to use it properly I felt relief. Do not stretch your back for more that 15-30 seconds. I made the mistake of holding pressure for ten minutes. That was dumb. I couldn't get off the floor without help. I could barely walk after I got help up. Then next day I was fine but pulled my back and well....FML I didn't use this table for two months after that. After extensive research, I found the correct way to use this device. First of all. Never use pressure more than half your weight. But at first start off light and work your way up. Start at 20-40 lbs psi. After a couple weeks go up another 20 psi. Listen to your back. Strap yourself in and pump it to the desired pressure and hold it for about 15-30 second max. Then release the pressure for the same amount of time or maybe even a little more. So like 30-45 seconds of no pressure. Then repeat. For the first week I would recommend no more than 10 minutes and increase your time by five minutes each week until you reach 30 minutes max. 20 years I've had a POS back and this is the only thing that has helped. I tried the inversion table and it became a paper weight. It just wasn't for me. I love this thing. I use it five times a week. Consistency is key. Doing it once every now and again is not going to give long lasting results. I've been using this for a couple of months now, and I see myself using this for the rest of my life. If your back is prone to being pulled, I highly recommend stretching first. I do about ten minutes of yoga first. If I don't stretch first, I will mostly likely pull my back the next day. I hope this helps. Good luck!

I bought a comfortrac lumbar traction some 8 - 10 years ago. I use it frequently to decompress my injured back and have great results and relief every time. My mother recently tried mine for her back for a month and it has helped her tremendously with her recovery also. She wanted one so I can get mine back. Unfortunately the current model looks nothing like the older model but we decided to buy it anyways because I also have the cervical traction from comfortrac and that also works great. How disappointed we were when we tried the lumbar traction. The traction extends just fine like the older model. However it will not retract when you release the pressure. After several attempts it was obvious there is a flaw in the new design. We had no choice but to return it. I would love to rate it higher but this model is too flawed for the price. I would like for a better design or bring back the older model.

This is I've that works, but need better fasteners for it's edges

Better design then older models but poor quality parts used. Cheap riverts that hold the frame keep popping out. No self return like the older model.
