These are just the ticket for my mountain bike and trail riding. I generally prefer to use platform pedals like these instead of clipless pedals when I cycle city trails. I'm on and off and have to stop frequently. These are great for that. The pins on these work great to keep my shoes in place on the pedals. I'm wearing lightweight day hiker shoes (in this case from Keen) and the pins work great for shoes like that. The width of the pedals are good too. Distributes pressure across the front of my feet. I'm also satisfied with the weight of these pedals. I wouldn't call them light but they are lighter than the pedals I'm replacing and that's goodness. Bearings must be super tight because these pedals don't spin freely. What I mean is, there's plenty of friction when you try to spin them. Maybe I just need to break them in more. That said, once you're riding them, you don't notice the friction. I have road cycling pedals that behave similarly.
