June 2025. Lennox Air Conditioner had a loud buzz. Watch a YouTube about the noise. Ordered this Contactor and received it the next afternoon. Watched another YouTube for installation. Took lots of pictures of the wiring. New Contactor installed. AC working well and no buzz.

Last year, my central AC went out during a 95° heatwave. Luckily, it was the start capacitor that failed and that was a quick and easy fix. A friend told me that I may as well replace this part because it was also an inexpensive and easy replacement. He was right! This is a good quality replacement part that functions well. It was easy to install and my AC unit seems less noisy now. I paid about $25 to replace two parts. An HVAC tech would've charged $600-800! I highly recommend this part if you're handy and need an upgrade.

I never knew anything about this. I never knew a thing about central ac units. Till I was now staying in the brothers new house he just bought, they went on vacation so I was staying there dogsitting for him. So I knew his central ac controls both ac and heat. But then I figured out that his heat isn't actually produced by the AC unit, but rather by a gas furnace, and the AC only distributes the heat via the internal van n ducts. I thought oh ok that makes more sense cause it will be way cheaper. Then after being there the first couple of days, it's right around spring time here, so that it was cool, so I was only using the heat mode. But when I figured out the heat is made by the furnace. I was thinking hmmm why then is the outside unit running?? It shouldn't be. So I tried turning the thermostat to off. The internal van shut off, but the outside unit kept running still. So I knew we had a issue here. I looked it up online and came across many people saying they had this exact issue with the outside unit not shutting off, and it's usually this part that gets stuck. So I watched a few videos and when I got the idea of it I went out to the unit, pulled the breaker thing, screwed off the cover plate, and there was this part, indeed stuck, when I pushed it outwards with my screwdriver (power was cut) it popped right out, and then the unit was off when power returned. But if I turned on the AC to test, it again wouldn't shut off cause it got stuck. So I knew this was the issue. So..... To Amazon we go...... Found this, ordered it, got it the next day, installed it in 10 minutes. And works perfectly now, unit turns on and shuts off perfectly every time now. And I only told my brother about all this after it was all done and working perfectly. Cause I didn't want him to worry about it that I'll break it etc etc. So when it was done I showed him what I did and she him the old part that was broken. And he was so appreciative for what I did. A pro would charge him a few hundred to "diagnose" the issue, and a few hundred for the part, cause he has to special order it from Taiwan etc etc etc. And a few hundred more to install it. I did it all for under $20. Btw the unit is a Goodman brand AC. But I made sure the part is the same. And it was.
