Amazing knife of 4+ years
Have had this knife since July 2019. It has performed exceptionally from splitting wood to slicing steak (forgot utensils). There has never been a time I've regretted buying this knife and it's been with me through thick and thin, even shady encounters. It's a solid weight and feels very sturdy. The handle is amazing for grip. Have used the skull cracker at the end to make things a little more cooperative. Never busted out a window unfortunately. Have used it mostly without the nylon sheath for the past 3 years and just lashing it onto a pack or chest rig with the lash points. The plastic lip locks it into place so taking it out requires a small bit of force but the plus side is it won't fall out when doing pretty much anything. Knife sharpener works in a pinch but I have dedicated ones so can't really say much about it. Nice to have just in case. It's held in by a screw so if you need to exchange it or just take it out, you have the option. Overall, I love it. Haven't looked for a similar knife in years while constantly replacing or upgrading multitools or pocket knives. 👍

Great Knife!
This is great knife that is not too expensive to use. It came with a sharp edge (only one side, not the top) and works great for camping or hiking trips. I bought it with a sharpener tool, but notice that there is a sharpener constructed in the sheat. The hammer (the top-end part of the handle) can only be used when the knife is in its sheat. The handle is of a nice 'rubber' compound that gives you a good grip, even when wet. It feels very solid with a nice balance. I bet one could dig holes with it! I guess that you will damage the rubber handle when using it as a hammer. The pointed 'butt' part can be used to break through glass. I've used it at camp fires as an allround knife; from trimming branches to backup for personal protection against wild animals. The only (minor) issue I can think of is that the part of the handle that locks in the sheat will wear quite fast, even when using it only on a few camping trips. But hey, it was designed as an aircrew egress knife, not an everlasting collectors item! I would recommend friends to buy this knife, and I would buy another one if mine gets lost.

Superb quality, excellent value
I searched a wide variety of fixed blades, SOG, Cold Steel, etc., looking for one with heft, strength, superior design, and great value. The Gerber LMF II Infantry satisfied all of those variables. It has the weight I was looking for, the blade width, serration, and obvious strength, which means it will easily handle any situation in the back country. The knife feels comfortable and balanced in the hand, the grip is secure, and the blade is razor sharp. The sheath is very well constructed, stitching rock solid, and it included two leg straps, with vertical and horizontal loops for multiple carry options. As with everything I buy, I look for the best quality at the most competitive price. You won't be disappointed in this knife.

Too much knife
It's a cool knife and it's definitely heavy duty enough for whatever you have in mind. But. It would have been really nice for them to make it a little bit thinner( maybe .140"x 1.25" instead of .180x ~1.62) in the smidge longer(+.75-1.25"). the knife so heavy that it's noticeably slower to swing, Which is kind of insane. Comes pretty sharp out of the box. Don't know what else to say. It's too thick, heavy and not pointy enough to be A Decent combat knife or hunting knife, but it probably would make a decent survival knife. It's a chonky boi.

The Last, best Knife You Will Need
I bought this knife in the Summer of 2020, purchased for $108.00 from Amazon. It has exceeded all expectations in the field. It continues to impress me almost every time I use it. I have not met its comparable for the price even with it 50% price hike in 5 years. Pre-owned may be the way to go, but I don't know why anyone would sell this knife after owning one. From the built-in sharpener to its either side retention to its many methods of carry, the sheath will fit your preferred carry style. Gerber, keep these knives coming and bring back the Gerber BMF!

Best in Class
I have 100s of knives. 3 of them are this exact knife. It is my favorite in its class. I have small folders that I use for delicate work, cutting open boxes, etc. I have a couple "tacti-cool" blades I like, but for every day carry working around the farm, and beating the crap out of it, I have not found anything better.

This knife will outlast humanity
This is more knife for your buck than you'd expect. I can use this as an axe, hammer or knife. It's essentially one very thick blade with a rubber coated tang, which like the blade is thick and heavy. This blade has outperformed every expectation I have for a blade. It's simple yet very effective. One of the key aspects of it that I really like is the 3 holes for attaching the knife to branch which makes it a spear. To use this as a hammer just rest the sharp edge of the blade on the wood intended to cut and hit the back of the blade with a heavy piece of wood. I can stab right through sheet metal with this thing and it holds it's edge I can cut through cinderblocks without any notable damage, holds edge fairly well The grip is formed by a rubber coating over the tang. The rubber is extremely grippy, I love it. Due to it's weight (which I actually love about it) I can easily drive the knife into hardwood when thrown, also because of the shape of the handle it throws very nicely. The The sheath is VERY rugged and conveniently outfitted with not only the belt loop but molle straps as well. The leg strap is of notable mention, it is lined with a rubber stitch so the knife doesn't go flying when you take off running. It has a built in sharpener but it is not meant to hone the blade to a razor edge however it is a great field sharpener. The knife is held in the sheath VERY snugly, to fix this just rub a drop of veggie oil on the inside of the "lip" that locks the blade in. Doing this will allow your blade to slide out with much less friction however due to the shape of the lip it is definitely not going to just slide and fall out if you're upside down. ALSO the sheath can be completely removed and attached to JUST ABOUT ANYTHING. I wish I could get away with wearing this everywhere but due to it's size it is often inappropriate in town. However I keep one in each of my vehicles and each of my packs/bags. I just love this knife and because of the price I can easily afford to get several of them instead of just one overpriced knife. I personally recommend this product to everyone. I've been using these blades for several years now and they all receive significant abuse yet all are still in very good condition. On a side note, I am a blacksmith and I generally dislike to buy blades alltogether but this blade is just to great to pass down. To produce this by hand with the same type of steel would be extremely time consuming, this is a top of the line AMERICAN made.

Fantastic Knife for a Great Price
I bought this knife as a birthday gift for one of my good friends who is in the Navy, and he was very impressed by it. Its construction is top notch, and the knife blade is incredibly thick. It will easily handle the toughest of cutting jobs with ease, and the serrations are well made. The grip feels great in your hand and it is very easy to hold onto. The sheath is tough, and it takes some effort to get the knife out. However, I think that is a great feature because you know you will never have your knife just drop out of its sheath. The pointed buttcap is built so sturdy I felt I could use it as weapon if need be, and if there was any glass to be broken, it would go through it with ease. The ingenuity and craftsmanship that went into the construction of this knife are unbelievable, and this is a worthy addition to anyone's outdoor survival knife collection.
