Comb teeth nicely stay secured an hug the hair - yay. Shiny plastic -- so I do not recommend for an updo for an special event -- but rather a nice alternative to hair destroying elastics!Unfortunately the decorative 'handles' are exceptionally thick and prevent the wearing of a baseball cap with them -- too much scalp pressure.These replace my original interlocking thin combs that I lost but used religiously for decades when hair must be pulled back for outdoor activities -- swimming, tennis, beach lounging. But my originals were 4 pairs to a pack and priced under $20 while these are one pair at $15 - ouch.If the product designer made them more ergonomic to the head and in white, tortoise shell, and other colors, for a more reasonable price then I would buy more!
