This Sound Bar Is Great ! ( Real Reviewer )
I just bought a Sony X93L with Dolby Atmos capability. Not a cheap TV. I knew I wanted a sound bar system for my living room that would do it justice. I looked & listened to sound systems by Sony, Bose, Sonos, Samsung, LG, Visio to name a few. Im a child of the 70s and grew up through the old school speakers with LOUD & LARGE surround sound home theater set ups. I love hearing all the small details around me. If i had unlimited cash I'd spent few grand on one of those systems. But i don't have that kind of money .... really I don't need that much sound system in my living room. I wanted a sound bar that would give separate bass and separation of some left and right and center channels and sound solid for movies, music and dialog. I didn't want a cheap sound either. When I listen to the brands i named before i honestly wanted to be impressed .... but just wasn't. It sounded good but many with a bar and sub together would be at least a $1000. Some much more. I came across this Polk Signa S4 and read the reviews. Polk has made solid sound for a long time. I took a chance and I'm glad i did. This sound bar is GREAT ! The build is very nice and solid. Remote is small and plastic but has very usable buttons especially the separate sound and bas volumes. Set up was fast, all needed cords included. It has very excellent center voice clarity. The other channels are distinct and create a wall of sound that "reaches out in to room before your TV and shifts left, right and up and down". It sounds really good and when your add the sub the bass flows in well but is also distinct and can be adjusted easily with the remote. If you want some bass rumble for those movies or thump for concert bass lines it can do it well. Is this system a full surround 7.1 plus sound experience? NO ! But you can really hear the shifts in channels reaching out in front of you from the array of speakers projection left, right, center and up. I personally found the bass in the front to the side of the bar by the TV is really good. But for me i placed the sub woofer behind me and got some really nice "surround like" feel that pulled all those sound bar channels all together to a more full room experience. Im totally satisfied and recommend this system. The price was $299 vs $1000 plus for some of the others. Amazon offered me a $200 gift card to sign up for their credit card making this sound bar cost $100. I was sold at $299 but at $100 it was a steal. Try it .... its a great living room system with Great value for the price. I Love It!

JUST GET IT ALREADY, you'll love it.
I got the S4, if you're teetering back and forth just stop, get it. GET IT NOW! I love it, I think you will too. Don't get me wrong, this thing is not so amazing that the walls our going to vibrate it's gonna sound like a concert in your home; no soundbar out of a box is going to do that. If you want that effect, prepare to fork out four digits on a system with superheavy speaker magnets and an independent amplifying system. What sets this apart is the clarity and simplicity, not to mention quality. And btw, it is loud enough to piss off any inhabitants in the same dwelling or sharing the same walls as you. Here's what I had to do to set it up, I opened up the box put the batteries in the remote, plugged the power cord of the soundbar to the wall outlet, did the same for the subwoofer, turned on the soundbar, activated the Bluetooth on the soundbar, pressed the button on the back of the subwoofer for it to connect to soundbar, got the tv to check for any Bluetooth items nearby and it saw the S4 immediately and I selected it on the screen. VOILA, the system was set to go. Seriously, that easy, 5 min! For basic sound, my tv remote was able to function the volume automatically. Now basic functions for the remote that comes with the soundbar, this is everything you'll need to know about controlling the sound: There's the volume up and down and there's the bass up and down, pretty basic. There's three available preset eq's set up (each of those buttons has icons). 1- movies/cinema, 2- night mode (which controls the highs and lows for a steady volume and tone, that's to avoid pissing off others late at night), and 3-Music mode. That's it, it's not like a fancy equalizer or amplifier, that's all the control you get. At the very bottom of the remote you'll see buttons with the numbers 1, 2 and 3. That's basically treble, it control voice clarity. If you're having trouble understanding what people are saying just take it up to 2 or 3 and voices are louder and more clear. And that's it! Now, if you want to get fancy, you can put it on a bracket and attach it to the tv (which, I did) or there are two holes already provided on the back to mount it to the wall with screws. It does come with HDMI and optical cable if you want to hard wire it to your tv, but hey, I'm happy with the Bluetooth; only cables I had to deal with are the power cords for the bar and the woofer. It's choice! Stop fidgeting, for the price point, get it!

I bought the S4 set after a lot of analysis. At this price point, it's the best on offer. The sound quality is simply amazing. The top-firing main speakers are rich, deep, and clear, and the sub kicks in at all the right moments. The system especially shines with our HD Blu-Ray system. I have zero regrets about this purchase. Polk isn't an electronics company with a speaker division, it's a speaker company that makes outstanding speakers. To the other reviewer who says this sounds like TV speakers - what?? I used a basic HDMI cable from the eARC output on my TV to the speaker bar and have had no problems; this ensures the volume can be controlled using the remotes for any device: TV, Blu Ray, whatever. You can adjust the Polk's preset equalizer settings and/or adjust the bass/treble using the included Polk remote control. There is simply no comparison to be made between a TV's embedded speakers and this soundbar system.

I basically bought this for watching BBC nature documentaries since my TV's inbuilt speaker had hard time delivering clear dialogues but I think this Signa S2 is overkill for that purpose. I should have gone for Signa Solo which was selling for 8k during sale (including bank discounts). Now coming to it's capabilities. FORMAT IT PLAYED : Dolby digital, Dolby digital plus, DTS, DTS-HD (Master Audio) and many other formats except Dolby TrueHD & Atmos where TV displayed something like "audio not supported in this video". My biggest concern was if it can play DTS files and it plays them brilliantly. I felt DTS sounded better than Dolby but it may be due to higher bitrate of dts files. VOCALS are amazing. Super clear. Actually whole sound speactrum is too clear with great instrument separation that you will be able to distinguish between different sounds/instruments being played. High notes tone (Tweeters) are just pleasant to listen to. Polk's Voice adjust feature is extremely beneficial and works as advertised. But since soundbar produces such crisp and clear sound I never felt to use that feature but I tried just to test it out and it worked great. It easily fills 15x20 room with just 50% volume that you would feel like sitting in a theater. Now coming to BASS: It's the most controversial part with Signa series soundbar. When playing dolby movies (I played Batla House and Justice league) the rumble was so huge even at low base level setting that it literally felt like being in the scene of the movie. The rumble penetrated 3-4 walls in my house and could be felt beyond 30 feet. When Polk says "Deep Bass Technology" they are truly honest with their claim. Bass felt like Sub-bass most of the time than normal Bass. Bass is what you can hear, Sub-bass is what you feel in your whole body. I also noticed there was no down firing driver in the sub. When you place your hand near sub you will barely feel anything even while producing THAT deep Bass rumble in action scene. Bass effect is more like 3D and feels like PVR cinema at home. These guys (Polk Engineers & Scientists) know the science of sound and are Master of acoustics so they have done something there in the Bass department. Now the controversial part of NO BASS. It occured mostly during streaming music via Bluetooth or even while playing directly from TV. Bass was so loose & non existent (70% of the time) that one would easily get disappointed. Only thing about the bass present during music is some "air pressure type" loose Bass ,which you can only hear, without having any body, depth, weight or punch. But when you watch dolby/DTS movies Bass will just shock you in many ways that you won't be able to believe yourself. One can easily feel that Super deep Punch and weight with 3D effect. So there's definitely some improvement to do in that Bass department but it won't affect your experience during watching any movie. For music lovers I would suggest to go for Magnify Mini rather than Signa S1/S2. It was very easy to install and I used HDMI Arc to connect to my TV. Using Polk's remote I can turn on Bluetooth ,connect with my OnePlus 7 and stream. I actually enjoyed listening to music since I rarely listen to Bass heavy songs ,so Bass issue never bothers me. I got it for around 14k so it's Value for Money for me and actually delivers more than what I paid for. I received 4 power cables (2 two-pin & 2 three-pin). Received all other accessories like optical cable,HDMI cable, remote, batteries. Thanks for reading my review. Cheers ;)

Sounds OK , solid , good bass and mediums, but lacks of trebles. Good for the price , if you are looking for astonishing sounds it is not your soundbar.
