Super nice! Smooth finishes and easy to handle. I’m using it to help rough out the octagon on violin bows. The picture might be difficult to see but the jig holds the wood diagonally and the planer glides along the jig. I love how adjustable the planer is to a slight depth. I’ve cut planing time down to less than 45 minutes with this! Super timer saver.

I previously bought a very DeWalt planer, and it was a huge let down because the blades were not level with the sole and there's no fine tune adjustment mechanism on that planer, so it was wrong from the factory and there was no way to make it right. I bought this planer on the rebound because of one feature only: the blades have fine adjustment screws so you can level them and set their depth accurately. Why isn't every planer like this?? It works great. No complaints except the catch bag is way too small and the exit ports are small also. It's doesn't have the extra-robust build that the DeWalt has - but it is a useable tool and my DeWalt isn't. I don't have alot of experience with Ryobi tools but my impression, which is strengthened by the quality of this planer, is that Ryobi know where to take cost out, and they know where NOT to take cost out. It feels cheap, but it doesn't feel like it's going to break. Like the millennium falcon, she's got it where it counts.

Was looking for an inexpensive planer and came across this one. I got the planer and put it to work right away. The planer left very smooth surface and made quick work of trimming the wood. This has a good amount of power to most on most woods with no issues. If you need an inexpensive planer, this one is for you!
