Our family is a BMW family. The wife and I along with our kids have had as many as 7 BMW at one time (not all new folks we buy second hand Thanks to horrible depreciation we snag them as lease returns) seriously a three year old car with 30K is half sticker price and these are amazing vehicles that when serviced will last we have had many a car with 200K before selling them off we have always service our cars at home and for years I have used a strap wrench on the filter housing. That works fine and all but I finally ordered the wrench. WOW seriously THIS is SO much easier to use with a socket also now we can use the torque wrench and know we are not under or over tightening the lid. The housing lid is not crazy expensive or anything but when you crack one and don't know it the small oil leak that goes all down the side of your motor will make you sad. Don't be cheap like I was for so long buy the tool what it can save you in being the right tool and prevent you from making and error is WAY cheaper in the long run

This was a perfect fit for my 2009 BMW 328i xdrive. This made the oil change that much easier and less of a hassle. I bought other products like the rubber clamp and metal grip tool from Autozone but it didn’t do the job, it actually scratched the cap a bit (the cap was on too tight). I definitely recommend this tool. I was able to remove the oil filter cap with ease.

This is a great socket, quality and fit

Works as expected. Gave 4 stars because it does fit pretty loose on the filter housing but it does hold on well enough to get the desired torque needed.

Fits the X5 perfectly and has a very strong connection point for the ratchet. Other models break at that point if the socket piece is welded. This is a one piece metal mold and is sturdy. No issues and inexpensive.

I bought this as I work on Volvos on a daily basis. The fitment of this tool on their filters is pretty good; somewhat loose though as there is a little wiggle room. After fully tightening the filter, you'll need to smack your wrench or ratchet the other direction with just enough force to get this tool off of it. UPDATE: I really regret not reading other reviews. After a couple months of use, this item has been slipping on Volvo oil filters. Please listen to these reviewers as this item is definitely wider than 86mm. Somewhat disappointed that this problem didn't occur until way past Amazon's 30 day return window. Spend the few extra bucks and get another cap.

Works well, oil cap got stuck inside of it. I had to stick a 1/4” socket extension into the 3/8” opening and bang on it with a rubber mallet to get the cap out of this socket. Other than that it worked fine I guess and did the job.

Great Quality Oil Filter Cap Tool. Wow! What an easy tool that made the job of removing the oil filter cap on a 2006 S60 2.5T AWD Volvo so easy without any damage to that reusable car piece. With this tool, I have option to use the 3/8" drive centet hole or a 2" regular wrench on the outer base of hole. This heavy duty metal tool will certainly outlast life of my vehicle. So glad I invested this time saving and protective device to remove the oil filter casing without damaging it like other devices could do with their crushing grips.
