Q: Do you have to use coasters with this tray?

I would recommend. I heavily treated with lemon oil. Very pretty and great size.

Q: Do you still have issues with the messy lines on the staining like the pictures in the reviews and the uneven herringbone pattern?

For continuous improvement of our product, we took the following actions: -Uniform application of stain and protective coating throughout the tray was revised to eliminate the visual line patterns, referred to as "ugly stripes", in the previous board iteration. -Interlocking features were added to every corner of the tray to prevent the board from splitting.
