These page holders are ABSOLUTELY FIRST RATE--I used them to hold open pages for piano music, and they work beautifully. They are generously sized, weighted, with fine leather and a soft backing so they don't slide. My piano teacher wanted to know where I got them. This is a great little bookmark/weight. I'd wish I'd seen it on Amazon sooner. The material it is made of keeps the holder from slipping--even if the book or magazine is slightly elevated and the pages are glossy. The quality is really good. I read books/magazines and have been using potato chip bag clips to keep pages open. They can be a pain when you have to turn the page. I now often use this product instead. I would recommend anyone who reads books or magazines to get one.

I am a graduate student currently beginning exams that require a lot of typing quotes from books very quickly. I work from home and am often on a couch, in bed, or at various desks/tables. It can be really tricky to find a way to orient myself, my books, and my laptop to work efficiently. I bought this tool knowing that reviews said it wouldn't work on heavier, stiffer books. I would definitely agree--it doesn't work on some of the brand, brand new soft cover books I have purchased. It works fine on hardcovers and heavy books. I think the issue there is how worn and used the book itself is. I also have a lot of joint problems, and it is not too heavy or tricky to move this around to hold pages, and lets my wrists relax more. However, this tool has been extremely useful for me so far! I am able to hold pages open and work quickly. The large complaint that I have is the texture of the silicone is perfect to pick up every bit of lint, cat hair, crumbs & other detritus that it comes into contact with. I will have to see if I can wrap it in some sort of protective texture, since it's already looking pretty gross. All in all, the other reviews are accurate and it's a great tool--just be aware it may not work on all books, and that it can pick up lint, hair, and other things. Despite those issues, I really recommend it! I have already told some of my fellow grad students to try it.

Such a simple and yet effective design. Works perfectly. I can keep my book open while I sip my morning coffee, or hold it open to a page I want to copy or refer to at the PC. Love it. I have 3 so one is available in each location where I may need it.

Flexible and weighty, easy to move around on the book. Fits any size book, paperback or hardcover. Although it's mostly clear (except for a metal disc giving weight to each end), it is not exactly transparent, so don't expect to be able to read your book *through* the pageholder. But it is so easy to adjust that it's no big deal to move it around a couple times per page.

Item works as described; it is exactly what I needed.

Quality leather and nice heavy weight.

Perfect for hands free reading while I drink my coffee or am sitting in a breezy spot. Keep it on top of my closed book too when outside to keep breeze from fluttering my pages. It has good grip from the rubber and does not slide down the page. Would be a good gift for a book lover.

For half of books I have, the weight is not enough. I have to use two or another thing to keep the book open.

Great idea, works well. I got it for holding down the pages of reference books while typing - works fine. It's also handy for reading a book while you eat.
