Easy to set up. Clear voice. Good volume control. Small clock ideal for desk. My blind son likes it a lot. He can set the alarm easily. Good value too.

I've been studying talking clocks ever since Brookstone released the best talking clock to this day in 2001- no joke. What I like about this one is that you can quickly/easily disassemble and open the side to reveal the LED which lights the face-- and then permanently SNIP IT OFF. The clock will continue to function perfectly except your bedroom can stay completely black in the middle of the night after you get the time, and then drift back to sleep without optical stimulation. Light is well know by doctors to interfere with sleep for some people, but alas clock makers haven't figured this out yet. I've never seen a clock that DOESN'T light up the face when you activate the talking. Anyway this clock has other benefits too. Its small with a big enough face, just the right volume (still audible if you wear ear plugs), battery operated (so you don't have to worry about losing the alarm if the power goes out), and I like that it DOESN'T tell you the temperature but just quickly relates the time in a clear voice. And then of course-- it's good for the price. If you really like style then Braun make an elegant, expensive talking clock. But personally, I appreciate this one.
