NOW Foods Supplements, L-Glutamine 500 mg, Nitrogen Transporter*, Amino Acid, 120 Veg Capsules

Good supplement, advertised to help with gut health, but also seems to provide mental clarity and focus, have used off and on for many years, good product.

I've been healing ulcers for a year, after using these I can actually fast now without stomach pain, they appear to be healing my stomach pain. No taste or smell, easy to swallow. Good size bottle, pill size is standard.

This is working for what I need it to (preventing sugar & alcohol cravings, helping balance blood sugar levels and improving gut health/ digestion). But for those reasons they recommend dose ends up being 5 or more pills as the are 500 mg’s or 1/2 a gram. Being said I noticed a big difference within a few days. (Started with one & worked my way up, With just 1 gram I could tell a difference already). I love this brand and they’ve never let me down. I won’t buy any supplement or essential oil if I don’t trust the brand. NOW also has essential oils and they have my trust as a company, always high quality, so I’m sorry to deduct a Star (& it’s partially my fault because I didn’t pay attention to the mg’s compared to where I needed to be to see the benefit I was seeking. No funny taste or smell at all.

After a particularly long and horrible bout with my reflux (yes, diagnosed by a physician, not just calling some occasional heartburn "reflux" here) I was skipping any coffee, tea, and eating next to nothing for nearly two weeks. Because we were traveling, I didn't have the chance to see my doctor just yet, and planned to as soon as we were back in town. Then a cousin who had experienced serious problems with his digestive system told me of how this, partnered with okra pepsin had brought him back to healthy status. He gave me a full bottle of the pepsin and about a week worth of this L-Glutamine. Since those days, I no longer take any of the management drugs - prescription nor OTC - for my reflux, and often only take one single capsule of each in a day because I have so little problems. I drink two cups or more of coffee in the morning regularly, and no longer have to be ordering low acid coffee, except when I want it because I have some types I really like. I wish I could report that weight loss had something to do with my improvement, but really I am at about the same weight as I have been for years...not horrible, but still a bit more over than is wise. I will say that I almost never drink sodas anymore, and generally avoid greasy or fried foods, but I had been doing that for some time before the serious bout I had. Summarizing, this and the okra pepsin teamed up and reduced my drug intake, also saving me money. There are different brands of okra out there...perhaps the best is a bit expensive, but after using one of the more pricey and improving greatly, I now go with a far less costly one. Also, pickled okra has been an amazing and quick acting supplement to this recovery of mine. I don't know how anyone else might do with a similar process...and can't be openly suggesting that anyone go contrary to medical advice, I am only relating what my experience has been.

On day 1 this supplement took my leg cramps away. I forgot what it was like to not hurt. I'm hoping it is also helping to heal my gut issues. I take it at night otherwise it makes me too gassy.

I have been struggling with food digestion, bloating, etc the last few months and wanted to try out a few supplements before going into see someone about it and these were one of the supplements. Honestly I hadn’t really noticed a difference before or after taking them so my review of these is impartial. I’m wondering if these supplements didn’t necessarily help because something else is wrong or what bit they just didn’t work for me.

I am in my 3rd time in chemotherapy. My illness causes me to take diuretics to keep the fluid off of my heart and lungs. I get the worst cramping in my feet at night. My toes were randomly curl my feet ankles will lock up. So incredibly painful. My Palliative Care oncologist suggested this supplement. This and I drink water with electrolyte and it works wonders! Every night was so incredibly painful by the end of the day
