Wonderfully well made pen - very classy looking too! I love mine.
I find this to be a wonderful, classy looking pen which is beautifully made and finished. It's a very smooth and wet writer and the Ultra Flex nib is a treat to write with. A smaller pen, but one which is comfortable for long writing sessions. The more I write with it, the more I love it. This was my first FPR pen and it will not be my last. I'm really impressed with this pen and very glad I made the purchase.

Not bad at all
Is this the best fountain pen or flex tip I've ever seen? No, not at all. But honestly for 50 dollars, this rivals with my $200 pilot flex. 2 things for why it's only 4 stars tho, even if it does rival a much more expensive version of this pen, or atleast the 2 main reasons. One, it does not write as smooth. Its a very stiff tip, which is nice to know my new $50 collection pen will not just have the tip break on me in a week, but it means with the paper I use, being a little rougher and thicker than normal paper, gets a little jagged sometimes. However, definitely not the worst thing in the world. Its still capable of making smooth line and flourishes, and it's still a decent fine, but not ultra fine, nib, writing nice and tightly. And the biggest reason, is this pen railroads alot if you go to thick. Now I'm not using the wettest ink with this pen, but I will have more on the 5th-7th of October depending on shipping, and I will surely see if a much wetter ink will work. However, the wetness of this ink does not make my pilot flex railroad at all, even with this paper being a little rough. But as long as you keep a good angle, go at a good steady pace, and don't try and go to thick on your strokes, it has very little issues, and can actually flex pretty wide and keeps its shape very nicely. The feed works really well, and the flex actually gets a decent width, albeit you will have to do your own fill in, unless your like me, and actually kinda like the railroad look, but, I shouldn't get railroads using a wetter ink, because I'm not trying to get railroads. But hey, you know what, for $50, first day of usage, no other complaints. Picks right back up when left to sit on its side for a few hours, and no skipping or writing problems when just using it normally and not going for flourishes with the flex tip. Overal, if your just looking for a good fountain pen, and a decent flex tip, I'd have no problem recommending this pen. Especially since it comes with its own ink and converter (however I will not be testing the ink pods, as I don't really like using those, and much prefer using my very nice wet black ink. But it does come with two rather longer ones, so it could last about 2 weeks if your a daily writer) Oh, and this isn't really an issue, but something I notice. The whole pen gets fingerprints on it, especially the silver linings. The gloss look is really nice tho, but yeah, fingerprints galore.

Comparable to much more expensive fountain pens
I've used the pen for a full day now and I have to say that it works like a charm. I also have a Pilot Custom Heritage 912 that I had been using for a while but I wanted set that aside and use something a little less expensive for my daily use. And that I've used this FPR pen, I have to say I've found my daily use fountain pen. Right out of the box, it works flawlessly with Noodler's ink. The converter is straightforward and no hassle. The lines that the nib makes is very much comparable to the Pilot Custom Heritage and the ink flows without issue. Even pressing hard, there's no railroading. The only thing that does not compare to the Pilot pen is the build quality but that's expect considering this is only 1/4 the price and it's barely noticeable. So I have to say, if you want a pen with flexible nib, this is a great one for an amazing price. Edit: After using it for some time now, I'm updating the review to add an additional detail. I have noticed that the flow of ink is noticeably less than my Pilot pen. This has pros and cons to it. Pros are that it allows finer lines when writing on normal paper and has much less bleeding. This allows me to write very small letters much better than my Pilot pen. The con is that long thick lines can railroad. But this isn't much of an issue since I never write that thick. This doesn't change my rating but it is something to consider when buying this pen. I've not noticed any issues with the nib drying out or anything or inconsistent ink flow. Edit 2: Just a little something I wanted to add that I figured out as I continue to use this pen. Because the converter on this is a twist type and not a pump one like the expensive one I got, I can actually manually feed more ink into the nib if I need to draw thicker lines. Or I can let the nib try out a bit if I want really really thin ones. That's just kinda neat.

falls apart after daily use
I wanted to like these pens. The flex nib works well with some fine-tuning. This was my second Ambassador purchase - both failed within a few months. Both had the glue that holds the ring on fail :(

Very Nice Pen, Not Quite as Flexible as Anticipated, but all good!
I have used a lot of vintage pens over the years and had a fairly extensive collection at one time. Alas, these were stolen in a burglary 7 years ago and I will not be able to replace them. I am partial to flexible nibs which is why I purchased this pen. The pen is very smart looking and the fit, finish, and machining are superb in my opinion, especially at this price point. It is really well balanced with the cap posted and writing with it is pleasant and almost effortless. The nib is just not as flexible as I anticipated. It is certainly not stiff but in my opinion I would not deem it as flexible as the description suggests. I have several Noodler's pens and I think their nibs have quite a bit more flex than this one. To be honest to get a really flexible nib, it needs to be made of gold. If you ever have an opportunity to write with an Eversharp Doric, Waterman Commando, or Sheaffer 3-25 (all with a flexible gold nib on some models) you will immediately see and feel the difference. But you're not going to get a gold nib on a $70 pen these days, that's for sure! All of that being said, it's all good. I am very pleased with this pen and will be using it a lot!

I was mildly surprised by the solid build and heft of this pen. It feels like a $1000 pen and the nib performs very well. Have had no dry-outs yet. Complete opposite of the more expensive Pelikan M200 I recently bought which is so lightweight and cheap feeling I wonder if its a fake (I'm sure it's not). This FPR pen is more like my heavy Waterman or Lamy2000 weight. The flex nib is fairly stiff yet softer than Noodlers flex nib, so varying line width is a little easier with the FPR but it takes so little pressure to write with it's still easy to use as a Fine nib. I'll be buying more for sure.

The pen arrived in simple packaging, and was exactly as described. First impressions are of a well-made and stylish product. The pen has a nice feel and is particularly nice to use with the cap securely posted. Filling was straight forward (used Montblanc Burgundy) and the pen initially wrote well - smooth but with some feedback. The nib has a distinctive sweet spot. However, as I tried to use the flex features of the nib I encountered 'train tracks' and disappointingly some subsequent drying up, even during 'normal' use. I will experiment further with different inks and paper to see if the issue can be resolved. Otherwise this would have been a clear 5 star rating.
