When you put this trashcan against the wall and open the lid, will the lid hit or scrape against the wall?

The lid itself won't but the black clip thing that connects the trashcan and the lid will touch the wall. As long as you don't put the trashcan all the way against the wall but leave at least half an inch of space in between, you'll be good to go :)
