Great quality digital conversion of slides
I have owned several slide scanners and tried many more. This is the best I have used and owned. The digital photos are equal to or better than the slides themselves.

scanner works well - software not so much
The scanner works great, but the Lasersoft Silverfast software is VERY difficult to use. VueScan is probably better. I have fought through learning the Silverfast, and now realize that if I actually want to archive my slides as RAW files as I planned, I have to buy ANOTHER Silverfast software for $249. Silverfast documentation is non-existent - I don't think even they know how to use it. They have these stupid Pilot routines that are somewhat helpful, but never show you how to do exactly what you want to do. Forget it, and buy a machine from someone besides Amazon, and get a different software.
