This is pure Pine Spirits. Really good packaging.
Sunnyside Spirits 1 Quart real Turpentine. Came in double box with plastic seal around entire can, very good packaging. Took about 18 days to arrive in the mail, so if possible, look for faster shipping options. You only want to use Turpentine that says "100% pure spirits of Turpentine." This means it is 100% natural and basically food grade, although it does say on the label that it's a lethal poison. The reason you use natural real Turpentine is because it is a food safe, non-toxic chemical that was frequently used as medicine before the 1930's petrochemical pharmaceutical industrialists came and outlawed all natural compounds, due to "safety" concerns. What you can do is mix this with your favorite natural oil, to make wood stain. You could use petroleum based thinner, but Turpentine mixed with food grade oils, should be a lot safer. Castor oil and turpentine can be mixed together and people have ingested this mixture, in small doses, to treat parasites. I believe, and this isn't based on facts or science, that making your own turpentine wood stain, using a food grade oil, dilluted with turpentine, is safer for toys, birdhouses, cutting boards, or household furniture in your bedroom. You don't want petroleum based solvents which are carcinogenic. Turpentine is the opposite. It contains 60 to 70% Alpha-Pinene. This compound is a Terpene that has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal action. And it has been known to actually treat diseases (use turpentine gum resin for skin). That's the magic of real Turpentine. It's the Alpha-Pinene. This compound is why modern medicine got scared and outlawed it as medicine. Do a Google search on Alpha-Pinene and its anti-pathogenic and medicinal properties. Turpentine is Alpha-Pinene and Beta-Pinene, mostly. These terpenes are what trees and eucalyptus plants use to fight off infections. Do you ever see a tree get infected when it's cut? No. You don't. The Alpha-Pinene assures that tree sap is sterile. Terpentine has this magic in it, but it's of a much, much higher concentration. Don't use petroleum products. Don't waste Turpentine, it's a natural product made from trees. Don't support companies that sell fake Turpentine alternatives, because the alternatives are not "food grade."

hard to find and a good price
I was looking for this at various local stores and was finding impossible to find. I used this to create a cleaning solution for a old wood floor and it works perfectly. I found the price as low as i'd expect.

The sentimental favorite of solvents with hundreds of uses.
This is exactly what you expect. A solvent made from pine tree resin. I use it in a hundred different ways, including mixing with boiled linseed and other oils to make light finishes. About 10 layers of a 50/50 mix will give you a lovely finish on tool handles. I would basically wear this as cologne if it didn't make my lungs so grumpy
