Would highly recommend this mat. It had good grip. This size allows a taller person to stay on the mat throughout a yoga practice. The dark color does need cleaning frequently but that is only for appearance. It does not hold odor.

Does not slip at all. Maybe too much traction for some people, but I love it. Also thickness is perfect for yoga and all sorts of floor exercises. Also quite easy to clean.

Best mat I’ve ever used. I’ve been doing yoga for over 20 years. I never bough an expensive mat because I didn’t think I needed to. I WAS SO WRONG! This is worth the price, amazing durability, I feel like I can balance better. My sessions have been more meaningful and the super grip texture is awesome. Be cautious, it can feel a bit rougher on your knees as far as the surface, but the density of the mat is nice and comfortable and cushions well. Can really work on any surface too. No gross chemical smell upon opening either. I love this mat.

This mat is very sticky, to clothes, skin you name it. It also is very stiff, doesn't roll out into a small size, but also doesn't curl at the edges, ever. It didn't smell at all. Nice color. I gave it 4 not 5 because it really isn't easy to carry at all.

Wasn’t sure how I’d like this mat when it first arrived but I’ve used it a number of times now for hot yoga and I absolutely love it. Not slippery at all. No smell upon arrival. Perfect length. Overall quality seems good and durable.

Have always wanted a Manduka mat and I’m so happy I finally was able to splurged and get myself one. The quality is unmatched. The weight of the mat, the cushion and texture of this mat is just right. Love practicing on this mat. Thank you Manduka!

This yoga mat was pricey but honestly it’s AMAZING! I do hot yoga/Pilates the room is between 95/105 degrees. It’s safe to say I sweat ALOT and this mat doesn’t budge. It does it a little slippery when I’m dripping sweat but over all I am very firm and stable on it! Hands down best yoga mat I’ve ever purchased! 10/10 recommend!!!

I had been so looking forward to this mat after over a decade with my old one which is still around but feeling shelled. I’ve been saving up for this mat and was so excited for it. I unrolled it and hopped into down dog to try it out. My hands instantly started sliding and I wasn’t sweaty, it’s a cool morning and I wasn’t in the middle of a workout. I’m sad to say Im returning immediately. It is quite cushiony and slightly rough which I think is meant to add grip but it did nothing for me. I noticed no smell, the size is as expected. Yes it’s heavy but I was just planning to use it at home so I wasn’t worried about that. Back to the drawing board I guess.

TL:DR- great mat with a long breaking in period, very thick and comfortable, DOES NOT SLIP very hard wearing. I’ve had the Matt now for about a month. I’ve read from other reviews and know from using my partners mat that there is a long “breaking in” period and this true for this Matt. This means that I’ve found the mat was difficult to roll up tightly, when I first started using the mat. At first, I found my feet and hands slipping from sweat during some yoga session but these small slips have become fewer as I have used the mat more. That all the negatives out of the way time fore the positives. The mat is very thick and provides a good level of comfort for my hands and feet. Additionally the mat is very hard wearing due to it being designed to be used with trainers. I have used this mat for some self body weight exercises where I am using trainers and for yoga and have found it very good for both. The mat does not slip on the floor no matter what I am doing this can be burpees or the downward facing dog it doesn’t budge one mm and is the main reason I bought this mat. Lastly I have used this mat pretty much daily for month and it still looks like it did the first day I used it. I know this isn’t saying much as it’s only a month, but if you look at yoga mats at a gym which is being used daily, you can see how quickly they wear out.

Portable (weight/thickness) yet satisfying good grip and cushioning effect.
