Some negativity in other reviews but if you understand firmly that this is NOT a replica of the spell book that appears in the movie, there is a lot to love for hocus pocus fans. The best way to describe it is a cross between a colour illustrated book and a recipe book. Yes there are real ‘spells’ but also many full colour illustrations throughout, alongside mock ‘notes’ from the Sanderson Sisters themselves. In essence it’s a movie tie in that is often on the comedic side and if you love the culture and folklore we were introduced to in the movie you will find lots to love. There are approx 240 pages and it’s clearly inspired by New England in the 1600’s. If you’re looking for something a bit more dark and serious though or a prop to put out for Halloween, this is probably not for you.

Je n'attendais rien de spécial de ce livre car il n'y avait aucune image de l'intérieur. J'ai acheté juste en voyant la couverture et parce que j'adore le film. C'est une très bonne surprise puisque l'intérieur est réalisé comme un "vrai" livre de sorcière, avec des annotations des 3 sœurs tout au long des pages. Les illustrations sont jolies et le livre et quand même assez épais. Il y a de tout : potions, sortilèges, etc... c'est du "pour de faux" qui est quand même charmant et ludique. Parfait pour les fans du film.

To be honest I wasn't expecting much from this book when I ordered it. Man was I pleasantly surprised. The cover looks good but the inside does it for me. The illustrations are amazing and the overall vibe of the book is so well done. I love it. Great for a gift for someone or decoration for Halloween!

i mean, what do you expect from a book about kids!! but still, it’s could’ve been a bit more less cartoony in my opinion! BUT ITS STILL GREAT!
