Vetoquinol Laxatone: Oral Hairball Lubricant Gel for Cats – Maple Flavored, 4.25oz 3 Pack

My cat kept gulping dramatically so I knew she had a stubborn hairball. I gave her just a few small dots of this and the gulping stopped almost immediately, then the hairball came the next morning. Hairball only (no food/bile/water). My cat is picky and she liked the maple flavor. I definitely recommend this product!

Warning: discussion of vomit/regurgitation I mainly use this to support my two cats with hairball elimination. Even with brushing, one of them gets hairballs pretty regularly which block her tummy and cause her to vomit her food until after the hairball has been regurgitated. I suspect this is because she ingests more than her share of cat hair, since she not only bathes her tiny self but also her massive adult son. Keeping up with regular brushing and offering a bit of this as a treat to both kitties a couple times a week seems to keep their guts moving smoothly and hairballs at bay. I'm a lifelong user of another brand of similar product, but my cats randomly decided they were tired of that one. Thinking this is also a well-respected brand in veterinary circles, I decided to give it a try and it's a hit for the most part. I was hesitant that cat's have no business with maple, but the scent is very slight so I guess the flavor is also. They find it appealing at least most of the time, although they are occasionally completely disinterested when I'm most eager for them to take it. More specifically, they understandably aren't interested when they don't feel well (ie- if they're already dealing with a hairball or nausea) so in my house it works better as a maintenance rather than a treatment. I store it cap-down and/or massage the tube a little before dispensing it to avoid separated oils, but this product doesn't do that as badly as some brands do.

Smells sweet and the cats love the taste. Works great.

The product was as advertised. Seems to be good quality. The smell is appealing. The thickness makes it easy to use. The problem is my cat is very picky and I have to put it on her paw to use it……but that’s my cat’s finicky self not the product. It seems effective.

Works great for the cats " hairballs".Cats like the taste ,so many remedies they don't like. Price seems high for what this is....3 times more than my toothpaste! Still give it a 5.

We have lysine gel in maple flavor for our cats and they love it so we thought they'd like this. NO WAY! Squeezed a small blob on my finger and put it by their mouth thinking they'd lick it up. NOPE! One cat actually ran and hid. I put it on the other cat's paw for her to lick but she tried flicking it off and it didn't come off. I went to wipe it off and she pulled her paw under her body essentially getting all over her chest fur. It's so thick and sticky my wife had to use a very warm washcloth to scrub it off. We'll stick with plain ol' unscented mineral oil. Not sure how many stars to give it since they never actually ate it (we donated it to the animal shelter).

Es la tercera vez que compro este producto con el mismo vendedor, así estoy satisfecha por el servicio ya que llegó en la fecha indicada y también porque le gustó mucho a mi gata el sabor a maple además de que le ayuda a que esté bien en su digestión y no se sature de pelos. GRACIAS.

A mis gatitos les ayuda para sacar las bolas de pelo y además tengo una gatita viejita que su popó es muy dura y este lubricante le ayuda

Recibí el producto mucho antes de lo esperado ese mismo día se lo di a mi gata y le hizo efecto ese mismo noche. El sabor es muy agradable para los gatos. Definitivamente lo volveré a comprar con el mismo proveedor.

Sirve muy bien para mi gatita de 17 años que ya tiene problemas de evacuación, le doy el Medicamento y pocas horas después va al Baño sin problema, lo recomiendo mucho
