This review is for use as a ceiling speaker in an RV, very different from typical car mounts. This speaker has received good reviews concerning bass response, there was really no appreciable improvement over the Pyle pieces of junk I upgraded from, most likely because of the small cavity behind the speaker in the RV ceiling simply doesn't allow for it. No biggie, I'll just get a subwoofer. I am however very pleased with the treble response. I don't care what anyone says, 2-ways with silk domes are always the best. I can listen to these all day at high levels without ear fatigue. Everything else I can easily EQ. I'm a sound technician of 20 years.

I needed a premium 6x9 coaxial with REAL bass and power handling for my custom made Bluetooth portable speaker. THESE fit the bill perfectly. THE GOOD - bass, deep bass...produces down to 35 Hz with proper tuning - power handling with ease - extended "pro style" rim for the grill -- really like that - silk dome tweeters (not shrilly/metallic sounding like so many other 6x9 speakers) - real 1.5" copper voice coil - subwoofer style speaker binding posts (thank you, thank you, thank you!) THE NOT SO GOOD - massive magnet -- fitment issues for some - ugly AF speaker grills - no cutout template for cutting holes - cheap speaker wire - weight...really heavy - low SPL at 1 watt (91 dB) -- they are power suckerDowners THE SOUND - bass lovers will want these...these dig low and don't give up or bottom out easily - upper midrange is weak. Add in some EQ at around 2-3KHz and they balance out nicely - Slightly "rubbery" sounding compared to "light and airy" with so many other 6x9s - tweeter dispersion is too focused (directional) due to the grill design (needs to be wider opening, flaring) - audiophile level performance when tweaked - these crank without drama...really come alive with a powerful amplifier and EQ tweaks OVERALL - Entry level high performance audiophile speakers and 6x9 sized bass lovers wet dream. There are better 6x9 coaxials out there, but for $120 these will hang with the big boys all day long. Heavy duty in all aspects. If you need your system to go to "11" these will do it ABOUT ME - Been building speakers since 1979, decades of technical experience, professional music, and home audio experience. I am old and picky...glad I got these. Solid buy. They'll get the job done

I have the Infinity Kappa 6x9's in one of my cars and my other car needed new 6x9's. I didn't want to spend another 220 bucks on the Kappas again, so I decided to give these a try based on the huge magnet and the price, which was 120 dollars cheaper than the Kappas. I've had them on my car for about a week now and I am really impressed with the sound quality on these! I think they have better bass than the kappa's, however the tweeters isn't as clear as the Infinity's, but for me at least, I don't mind at all. I was just looking to up the overall bass a bit, and this did the trick. UPDATE: So had these for about 3 weeks now and I have been putting them to the test everyday for my hour long commute to work. I found a Spotify playlist that has songs with a lot of bass and I blast it to about 80% of my head unit's output (any louder and my ears hurt). TO my surprise the speakers have zero distortion from the bass, and it rattles my car! All this without an amp! I decided to leave another review because I was blasting my music so loud, my front speakers (Not CT Sounds, but Kicker 6 inch) blew!!! I will be upgrading to the CT Sound 6 inch soon, and I think my simple plug and play sound system will be complete.
