After 500 days, it
Had mine for a year and a half and it’s still worth all the hype. Got the XL for my 7 3/4 head and it fits awesome. Can wear if almost fully snapped which makes it look like it’s supposed to instead of the usual last snap that makes the hat look all blown out. The hat is also worth the money. I literally wear mine every day and aside from dirt and sweat it’s like brand new. I’ve even thrown it in the washer/dryer multiple times and it comes out totally fine. If you wear hats daily, and want something that will just work as much as you do, just do it. Also, they look pretty cool, which is a perk! Photo is after 500 daily uses. Will definitely be getting anew one!

Best hat I’ve ever bought
Love this hat. I have sweat in, worn it in the rain, swam in the ocean while wearing it and it has held up great. You can run it under water in the sink to clean it and all dirt/ sweat stains wash right away. I’f it’s completely water logged it can take a day or more to dry. Best adventure hat you can buy!

The best hat I’ve ever bought!!!
I wear a lot of hats, but I’m very picky and about 95% I find don’t fit me the way I like. This hat is the best fitting hat I’ve ever owned, not only that but the quality of material is above any hat I’ve ever tried! I wouldn’t be surprised if it last me the rest of my life, you can see why it’s so expensive when you hold it in your hand. I wear it at the gym twice a day, where I sweat like crazy. It keeps me cooler, stays in place, and best of all no sweat marks! Normally I have to clean my hat ever other day from sweat stains, I haven’t had to clean it once yet and it looks brand new. I have never been so pleased with a hat before, or any article of clothing. Yes it’s expensive but worth every penny. I plan to buy 4 more in different colors. This is a must for anyone who works out with a hat on, or wants a hat for going to the river, beach, camping, or any activity that would normally put your hat through the ringer. The one thing I wish they would have done is shipped it in a nice box the stop the brim from being bent a bit, but I was able to straighten it out.

Great hat, great quality and worth the money
This is my fourth hat of these. I like them so much that I keep buying the different designs. They hold up really well and are waterproof or resistant. They wear really well. They aren't the most lightweight of hats, but I have gone through so many hats over the years that I'm fine with a little heavier hat to have one that's more durable and lasts longer. The one I had before this one lasted me about 3 years before it started to fade a little bit. I also made the mistake of getting sunblock on it when at the pool, and that didn't come off of it. These are the only hats I wear now and love them!

Better than most
It's a good hat. Very well-built with nice attention to detail. Expensive as far as hats go but, it it lives up to it's claims as far as durability and longevity, I'd consider it to be worth it. I first stumbled across this hat while looking for a Richardson 168 hat, of which I own 2 (similar style - 7 panel design). I was intrigued by the description, specifically the durability claims, but a bit sceptical of the high price tag. I tend to use hats for practical purposes such as keeping the sun/sweat out of my eyes when outdoors/fishing/getting dirty in general, so most of them get sun/sweat stained fairly quickly. I'm hoping this one, given the higher-quality materials, will withstand more abuse than the Richardsons. A few minor annoyances: -The logo under the brim is distracting when being worn (I removed it from mine without issue). -The "icon"/logo on the front panel is fairly subtle, but I wish it was not there or was easily removable. -The hidden pocket is a cool as a novelty (if you're into that) but it's very small. It would be nice if the opening was slightly larger so you could fit a credit card. -It's at least 2X the price of most similar hats of this style, which I think would be better justified if they could somehow figure out how to produce them in the USA.

Not worth it. "Features" have no real value, save your money. And the "thumb patch"? Please.....
Like many of you, I was intrigued by this company and their fresh take on hats. (I own more ball caps than I would like to admit!). I saw all of the "Amazon ships in envelops, ruined the hat" and then the "Amazon now ships in boxes, problem solved" posts as well. I read the reviews, took a chance and ordered two colors of the Icon Hydro. Here is my experience: First of all, my two hats arrived in....wait for it....an envelope. Upon inspection, one hat was dented and one was not. The dead give away was that the dented hat was in a replacement bag and not a branded Melin bag. Looks like the dented one was likely returned and then sent to me as the bag it came in said "ready to ship". Not a great start. However, the color I preferred was the none damaged one, so I was pleased about that... Now on the hat itself: It does look nice and high quality, but I was really expecting to be blown away by the quality, and frankly I struggle to find how it is any better than the twenty or so New Era etc. hats I own. I got to be honest here, the brim? Same as any hat I own.. the hat fabric? Maybe a touch nicer but nothing earth shattering. Features? A silly pocket in inside for who knows what. In all my days I have never thought "you know what my ball cap is missing, a pocket!" Zero value for me. Next, the snap on the back, nothing special here either. It functions like any other. Not worth the hype. Next the two biggest misses for me: First the bottom of this ALL BLACK hat brim is NOT BLACK. It is a light grey / leaning to white color. WHY? The whole point to wearing a hat is to keep the sun out of my eyes, especially if you are on the water (remember this is the "HYDRO"). Now glare from the water or snow or whatever reflects right into your eyes. Wow. Second huge miss: The absolutely silly "thumb patch" so you "don't get your hat brim dirty". This bit of silliness was the deal breaker for me. (See picture). First of all, I have worn ball caps for 40 years, and NEVER once have I had the problem of "oh my gosh, the underside of my hat is now ruined!". I have a tip: If your thumb is oily or fifthly, wipe it off before you touch you hat, or your clothes, just like your Mom taught you. I have never once had a problem with this EVER. I have ruined plenty of hats with sweat stains and dirt and sawdust, but never with my "dirty thumb". I would normally laugh it off and ignore it, but here is the kicker: the "rubber patch" is WHITE. I repeat, WHITE. UNDER YOUR BRIM. It is about the most distracting place possible. If was black, on a black brim, no harm no foul, but WTH? Just plain bad design, almost laughable. See photo. I tried to wear it around the house and convince myself I could get used to it...NOPE. No deal. Next the "waterproof" brim and how "it floats". Ok I spend a lot of time on rivers and on boats of all shapes and sizes. How many time have I needed a hat that floats? Maybe once, maybe? Another tip: Turn ball cap around when your on a vessel at any speed. This keeps your hat on your head and out of the drink. If you are a ripping surfer that kicks a ballcap when you surf, good on ya, you got skills, so maybe this will be good for you, for me, not so much. Summary: Pocket: Silly. Brim patch: bad. Waterproof: little value. 5 logos around the hat: unnecessary. I applaud a company who tries new things and pushes the envelope, and I really wanted to love this hat, but these "features" are no value and the price is DOUBLE of any other high quality cap. My advice: Pass on this, don't believe the hype. If you are itching to spend $60, go buy two new $30 hats and keep one in the bag. When you loose your first it in the ocean, or dirty up the brim with your greasy thumb, pull out your fresh new hat and call it good.

Delivery & Packaging
Was packaged well and the hats arrived with no damage. Each hat came in a sealed bag. I have many of these and to me these have perfect fitment. I use these with prescription glasses and tuck my ears inside the hat with glasses on. So far so good. My previo hats were easy to clean. Old toothbrush and some detergent wiped everything off and they come back to life like new.. finding a dealer for these hats is a hit or miss to me in the Georgia area, so this is a good place to buy an authentic, real Melin. Cleans easy. Solid construction. Sweat absorption Great for being out in the Sun and provides so much protection. Your noggin will thank you. Avoid that lobster color sun burn. Now, please gents, make sure to rotate the hat while in the sun. The last thing you want is a red square on your forehead. On that note I would like to leave one last thing. The hat has a secret compartment to hide or store things in a very inconspicuous place. Best hats hands down.
