i am not even a "rice person" per say. i mostly avoid unnecessary carbs, and think of rice as spiking my glycemic index. but i looove this taco salad at this local vegan restaurant and i am always like "wtf is this chewy delicious azz rice they are using? is this quinoa? wtf is this??" i didnt realize i could order and make it at home. today i used it as a base to my own delicious (very non-vegan) grilled chicken thigh salad and OMG IS JUST SOAKS UP ALL THE SAUCES AND IS HEARTY CHEWY DELICIOUSNESS. also, dont throw out the water. it's dark, syrupy, and rich with nutrients that should be used to condition your hair. sounds crazy but it's not crazy, it's hair food. mix it with some deep conditioner and thank me later. see how i'm trying to upgrade your life??

I had never heard of Black ( Forbidden ) Rice before, so began investigating it. It is, apparently, almost a super food with lots of healthy and beneficial enzymes in it. I decided to try it and found that health benefits aside, this rice is delicious. I normally eat brown rice, which is better for you than regular white rice, but this has an entirely different, unique taste that I love. I truly recommend to rice lovers, give it a try, you will like it, and it's really healthy for you. Bon appetit.

This black rice is definitely pricier than the grocery store ones. Especially the Asian grocery stores. However, if there isn't one around you or you don't have time for a grocery store run, this is definitely a good one to turn to. We like the flavor and healthiness, but you definitely need to cook them for a longer period of time and soak them beforehand. We usually mix this with white rice so it's not as hard to digest.

It is not what it is presented. Sweet rice to me means sticky rice, it is completely different from what I got. Not sure it is even just common purple rice because there is a lot of white rice in it.

Doesn’t taste that great in my opinion. Tastes like wild rice. But if you like that maybe you will like this rice.

Best quality black rice for the money.
