An Elephant & Piggie Biggie! (An Elephant and Piggie Book)

Great book for all ages. Very funny stories. Very loveable characters. The only thing I don't like is the pages are hard to turn. They're thick and rough so you almost have to pick your fingers to turn them.

My five-year-old twins started school this past fall and we've been introduced to a number of new books that we hadn't heard before. I hadn't heard of Mo Willems before they went to school (Why? I don't know.) but now we have built quite a collection of his books. I saw this book in a bookstore about a month ago and figured it would be a great addition to our collection since we didn't have any of the books. I ended up ordering it from here since it was a much better price. An Elephant & Piggie Biggie! is a compilation of five stories written by wonderful and hilarious children's author, Mo Willems. The stories are funny, include lovable characters, and teach valuable lessons in a gentle way that kids really enjoy. The stories included in this book are : Today I Will Fly!, Watch Me Throw the Ball, Can I Play Too?, Let's Go for a Drive!, and I Really Like Slop! This is a hardcover book with the paperback pages and it's the same as the individual stories, just five times as big! There are 309 total pages and each story is roughly 57 pages. There are a lot of pages but each page generally has one or two sentences. My kids were so excited when this arrived in the mail! Elephant & Piggie are always popular in our house and my kids will stop what they are doing when I pull out these stories. I love the funny stories and drawings and I look forward to reading them to my kids. These are popular in classrooms because of the gentle lessons they teach and they hold active kids' attention! We are building our collection of these books and this book took care of several of them. It's a thicker book so it's harder to hold but I feel the value is worth it. This book would make a wonderful gift for boys and girls in the preschool to elementary age range primarily but I'm sure other kids would enjoy them as well. I highly recommend stories by Mo Willems and this book is a wonderful addition to our collection!

Great set of Piggie and Gerald stories for a great price. The big book can be tough for little ones to hold open, but not unwieldy. The five stories are pretty good, and there are little cute notes between each story. If you've never read piggie and elephant before, they are fantastic for early readers. The words are perfect in terms of easiness, but still create a fun story. The dialogue exists mostly between piggie and elephant, so my 5 year old and I take turns in who we are- for one story he does all of the piggie lines and I get to be Gerald. Then we switch for other stories. It keeps him very engaged and its a great book for partner reading.

My kindergartner LOVES these books! She was getting the standalone volumes from her school library, so I went ahead and bought her this volume with 5 stories. I will find her reading them to herself in the morning when she wakes up and she will beg to have her extra 15 minutes before lights out to read them at night! Easy words for a new reader to figure out and enough repetition to make them confident with new words.

My granddaughter loves to read these Elephant and Piggie books.

My children loved the stories. They were funny and kept them fully engaged and listening, looking for me to turn the page. They wanted more.. and that was from two years old to seven years old. I was even laughing.. Highly recommend!!!

Large Book and the grandson loves reading these.

If you've already enjoy Elephant and Piggie and you're on the fence about this one in particular, hop off immediately and buy the book. Even if you have one or two of the stories, this format is great since it's compact and it's cheaper than buying the books separately. If you haven't read Elephant and Piggie, you're in for a treat. Mo Willems is an amazing author and illustrator. My 6 year old loves these stories, and he WANTS to read them all the way through, unlike most other books. He usually reads Piggie and I read Gerald. The books are great for teaching how to read with emphasis (words in uppercase or italics) and emotion. The illustrations are a lot of fun and Mo Willems is a master of illustrating emotions on the characters. I have just as much fun reading the books as my son does, and that rubs off on him. I bought all 3 of the "Biggie" books. So far we've read all of 1 and 2. IMO there are 1 or 2 that are better than the rest in each book, but all of them are entertaining. The Biggie books also have fun intros to each story, which we have a good time with. I could go on but you have better things to do, like buy and read this book.

Mo Willems is a fantastic children's book writer. His illustrations are so full of personality and are truly hilarious to watch as you read the stories. My kids love all the Gerald and Piggie stories just as much as they love the Willems' Pigeon book series. The English is also simple enough for ESL households since the English is short and relatively simple. I definitely recommend this collection of stories!

This series is great for kids. Easy to read, you and your kid will laugh out loud at the silly drawings and humorous scenarios. Start with this one and then get the rest of the series.

C'est un livre génial pour les enfants pour apprendre l'anglais, ma fille de 3 ans et demie l'adore. Les phrases sont courtes et se répètent donc elle fini pour apprendre les constructions. En plus c'est instructive par rapport à l'enseignement de valeurs dans la vie. Il y a 5 histoires
