The Beauty of Living Twice

I knew very little about Sharon Stone prior to reading this book, by the end of it I felt I knew her very well. She really is someone who has had to swim upstream all her life. From the unkind classmate who slapped her across the face and the tough and at times harrowing details of her childhood, she comes across as a sensitive soul who has survived and blossomed in spite of the odds. True resilience.

I bought this book mainly as I thought it would contain some useful tips on recovering from a stroke. I found it quite well written from the point of view of an autobiography, especially if she wrote it largely without help from a professional ghost writer, and she has certainly had an interesting life, but really no help in indicating how she recovered from the stroke. As an aside, I wonder if she had heard of Sophia Loren s view that Mistakes are the price of an interesting life.

Just read this book, it is a fantastic no holes barred story with healing process to help others who have been through similar life starts, and it could help others to get themselves into a more positive outcome too. There are good skills that Sharon has learnt herself and is telling in this book, they are Sharon's skills and may not be everyones but I'm glad that I have read her story and how she got where she is.

I did not like the way Stone jumped from her adulthood to her childhood throughout the book. Her life as a child was difficult and I’m not sure she has come to terms with it though she tried. I never felt connected to her experiences as she never gave them depth. More information could have helped to make her more understandable.

Wasnt sure about this purchase. Saw her being interviewed on TV, so when I came across her book though I'd give it a go. So happy I did. Its well written and a gripping read. Sharon Stone, did not know much about her before but now I have Total respect ....
