So, I purchased this item right before leaving to the Dominican Republic thinking what an awesome idea to use while snorkeling or diving! Super excited to see how it works!! Once we were there we didn’t feel the need to use the band due to the water being really clear and felt as though we didn’t need it for this trip. But, we do have other beach trips planned and I do swim in the gulf in Texas which the band would be really helpful and put my mind at ease! So, the band was NEVER taking out of our suitcase while in the Dominican! We flew home on Sun country airlines and checked our bag in thinking the band couldn’t go in our carry on bags, well big mistake!! Once we got home I opened the suitcase to find that the box that the band came in was empty! Not very happy that I purchased which wasn’t cheap and didn’t even get a chance to use it... So just a heads up! Keep your band or bandz with you at all times while traveling! People like to steal and it’s really sad! I made a complaint to Sun Country, but I’m sure they won’t refund my money!! Uggg But, I am still giving this product a 5 star because I did my research on it and it’s proven to work!

Really think it's working

I do a lot of spearfishing in very shark infested waters, shark bite capital of the world, Volusia County FL. I have had several encounters with Bull Sharks, with fish on a stringer and activity dispatching fish, the sharks will come in to investigate but soon turn away. I had a Bull Shark take my fish off my spear shaft will free diving, however the shark never came at me. I have several friend that spearfish with me, they don’t wear shark banz and have had to push or fight sharks off their stringers. Knock on something, I’ve never had a close call or a problem while wearing the banz. I have three and my wife and kids wear them while wearing spearfish, never had an issue. We see lots of sharks, but no issues. I plan on buying another one, another one of our kids is getting dive certified, he will be wearing it. Well worth the money if you dive or surf in shark infested waters.

Imorptant to know before buying. Once received the instructions advise that Sharkbanz do NOT work against great white sharks apparently due to their ambush nature of attack. I'm from Cali and this would be nice to know first. I bought 2 for a trip to Kauai with the wife so I'll still use. It's stylish, maybe a little heavier than I thought. Just beware what you are using them for before opening the wallet.

Likely a false sense of security, but I'll take it over nothing.

I’ve worn this product several times for our vacations in Hawai’i and haven’t seen a shark yet. It gives me peace of mind and I’m able to relax and enjoy the ocean.

The feel of it is high quality. I have seen the product review and testing videos on YouTube but there is controversy as sharks are unpredictable and people are entitled to their opinion of any product. However, I feel that this is a high quality product based on its construction alone. The fact it does not need batteries is impressive! I did not know that until I investigated further. The only thing I need now is to take it into the ocean and see what happens... I will post back soon but know that this product HAS been tested in a variety of conditions and you have to be your own scientist conducting your own experiment every time you dive with shark species nearby.

Lo usamos en las vacaciones y por más que buscamos un tiburón para ver si se iba, no lo encontramos, al menos mi esposa dejó de estar preocupada por los tiburones y me los dejó de recordar cada 3 minutos… así es que si eres casado y tu esposa te ostiga te recomiendo que lo compres por paz mental y los hijos se cuelgan hasta el molcajete así es que ellos lo usuaron sin protestar….. una vez me lo llevé a casa de mis suegros para ver si mi suegra se iba pero no !!! Es otro tipo de animal !!!

living in Australia this is always on my mind, so any additional measure to prevent an attack is helpful to ease my mind a bit.
