Nicely made pen but some issues with ink feed
The pen arrived in simple packaging, and was exactly as described. First impressions are of a well-made and stylish product. The pen has a nice feel and is particularly nice to use with the cap securely posted. Filling was straight forward (used Montblanc Burgundy) and the pen initially wrote well - smooth but with some feedback. The nib has a distinctive sweet spot. However, as I tried to use the flex features of the nib I encountered 'train tracks' and disappointingly some subsequent drying up, even during 'normal' use. I will experiment further with different inks and paper to see if the issue can be resolved. Otherwise this would have been a clear 5 star rating.

I was mildly surprised by the solid build and heft of this pen. It feels like a $1000 pen and the nib performs very well. Have had no dry-outs yet. Complete opposite of the more expensive Pelikan M200 I recently bought which is so lightweight and cheap feeling I wonder if its a fake (I'm sure it's not). This FPR pen is more like my heavy Waterman or Lamy2000 weight. The flex nib is fairly stiff yet softer than Noodlers flex nib, so varying line width is a little easier with the FPR but it takes so little pressure to write with it's still easy to use as a Fine nib. I'll be buying more for sure.

I have used a lot of vintage pens over the years and had a fairly extensive collection at one time. Alas, these were stolen in a burglary 7 years ago and I will not be able to replace them. I am partial to flexible nibs which is why I purchased this pen. The pen is very smart looking and the fit, finish, and machining are superb in my opinion, especially at this price point. It is really well balanced with the cap posted and writing with it is pleasant and almost effortless. The nib is just not as flexible as I anticipated. It is certainly not stiff but in my opinion I would not deem it as flexible as the description suggests. I have several Noodler's pens and I think their nibs have quite a bit more flex than this one. To be honest to get a really flexible nib, it needs to be made of gold. If you ever have an opportunity to write with an Eversharp Doric, Waterman Commando, or Sheaffer 3-25 (all with a flexible gold nib on some models) you will immediately see and feel the difference. But you're not going to get a gold nib on a $70 pen these days, that's for sure! All of that being said, it's all good. I am very pleased with this pen and will be using it a lot!
