Almond and Avocado Curl Enhancing Hair Mousse for Curly Hair; 10 Oz (Pack of 1)

It's June and the weather turned very humid. I'm older so my hair is dryer as I age. My dry hair in the humidity looked TERRIBLE, very frizzy. I asked a stylist what to do and she said use a mousse and less heat. This was rated very high on Amazon. ABSOLUTELY A GAME CHANGER. I have been using it for a week. I have increased how much I put on and literally my hair has transformed. There is no more frizz and it even looks more moisturized so the dryness is almost gone. Major benefits are my hair is thin so the product has to be weightless or my hair will be limp and greasy. Not with this product. My hair is light, fluffy, curled, soft and in general the best it's looked in a long time. This product is awesome.

Great effect on my hair (4C)! I absolutely love this product! Wow!! It was nice to have finally found a product that leaves my hair hydrated and moisturized. When it dries it doesn’t dry crunchy. The product is worth the price and the definition of the curls is undeniable!! I use the mousse as part of a three part mixture with another Design Essential product (Coconut & Moni Curl Defining Gelee) and a climate control (another brand) and apply to my hair and depending on how much time I want to spend on my hair, I do either finger coils, or I use the first 2-3 teeth of a fine tooth rat tail comb to create great curls on top, and the sponge for the sides and back. It’s amazing how the right products can transform your hair. And the curls last! This product is a must have! Great results! I’m loving my curls! I’m often asked if my hair has been texturized. The answer is, “Nope”, and I say, it’s a matter of finding the right products. It makes all the difference! I use the mousse about 2-3 a week for my sides and back, just to keep the curls looking fresh.

The picture with my glasses on is my hair with no product. My hair is very prone to frizz and gets weighed down easily but this products works wonders. It defines my curls/waves so nicely ,makes my hair shine, creates a nice cast, doesn't make my hair feel stiff , smells wonderful, and doesn't smell too strong. LOVE IT!

It does give my curls definition, but, my hair does end up kind of dry/frizzy. I'm not sure if this is because of user error or if it's the product itself. It might be both. My hair is very low porosity so I don't need very much protein and this has hydrolyzed wheat protein in it. On top of that, I've heard that wheat protein is one of the heavier proteins. Please, don't quote me on that. Please research it yourself to be sure. But maybe the protein content is contributing to the dryness/frizziness of my hair. Or also, I'm just now learning to use a diffuser and sometimes it comes out frizzy - cause I'm still learning. Either way, my hair is very low porosity and doesn't need much protein, and this possibly has a heavy weight protein in it. So, maybe it's more for those whose hair needs the protein. Side note: I didn't know it had protein in it when I bought it. I wasn't really paying attention to that. Also, I think when I bought it, I didn't know enough about protein and it's interaction with lo porosity hair, so I didn't know what to look for when looking for products. I gave it 4 stars because while on one hand it didn't work for me, on the other, I don't completely blame the product because I think it's just not right for my hair type. If you have high porosity hair, it may work better for you. I think I will keep using it until it's gone just cause I don't like wasting money or product. But, I will finish off with a nice oil to counter-balance the frizz/dryness.

I have 2C curls and the sides get very frizzy if I don’t use any product. I love my Aveda curl controller but it leaves my hair crunchy. The fragrance is ok. It comes out as foam rather than sticky gel so easy to use. I’m trying different amounts and have found 2 pumps each side is about right. Cost seems reasonable.

If you’re looking for a one stop product this is your girl. My hair was surprisingly moisturized yet light. It’s been my go to ever since. Good for air drying or diffusing. Update: After using for a while my hair started to have a gummy feeling to it. Recommend a clarifying shampoo if this is your regular. I tried Cecréd moisture cream and haven’t looked at this since. It’s officially a backup.

I finally found it, my holy grail of hair stylers. I will never again be without it. It's not your typical mousse, in that it's non aerated and therefore isn't full of drying and damaging chemicals. If this is what hair mousse is actually supposed to be, then all the other mousses are giving hair mousse a bad name. It's like a gentle moisturizing nourishing foamy lotion that when you first place on your hair you think, well crap, I put too much and this is going to be a disaster. No. Trust the process. Your hair will absorb the AA goodness and turn your curls into a luxuriously soft, well defined, totally defrizzed, volumized mane of glory. Um, if you haven't noticed, I really, really, REALLY like this product. I don't even need to add gel or any other styler. I use my milk or leave in, plop for about 10 minutes to absorb excess moisture, apply this mousse in sections by raking it through with my fingers, then I flip my hair upside down and squish it in. This also helps reform my curl clumps. Then I let it air dry (which was about 45 minutes faster!) And I usually don't even have to scrunch or separate my curls. I have high porosity 3b/3c fine to medium hair. It's long, hanging about mid back.

Really good product BUT price is double what other Retailers are charging so cannot afford to buy again

Great mousse and keeps my curls intact. This is the only item I use after washing my hair and the smell is divine.

I am super particular with the products I use in my hair and super particular in the texture it leaves. I’ve only used this product twice (this photo is of my day two hair, I was even more obsessed with my day one hair.. my curls were so big, soft, and bouncy)... and I can definitely say I will be buying this product again!! For reference, I did diffuse my hair. I also tried it on my sister, who prefers to air dry her hair (she’s got 2b/2c curls)—it dried well and really defined her natural curl! The scent of the product isn’t overwhelming, which is nice. At first I felt like it was going to leave my hair looking oily, but once it was totally dry my curls were just soft and bouncy. This mouse definitely tamed some of my frizz.. though I’m one of those weirdos that doesn’t mind a little frizz! Haha Overall, excellent curly hair products and will be recommending to my curly hair friends!
