Wish I'd read this with my first!
I breastfed my first child, but was pretty clueless and too proud to ask for help. I thought that breastfeeding was instinctive, and there was no way I was reading a manual/seeing a specialist/getting on a forum. I stuck it out for 16 weeks before I was in such a state of stress that my supply totally dried up. I'm currently in my second trimester with my second child (and have a much less stubborn outlook), and want to get all the knowledge I can gather before my baby gets here. This is the first breastfeeding book I've read so far. It was great! I already feel vastly more confident, and know I will constantly be using this book as a reference tool once the baby gets here.Quick list of good points:Kangaroo Care overview, Simple and straightforward breastfeeding how-to, Breastfeeding issues/treatments, Info for dads/partners at the end of the book, Very extensive list of breastfeeding benefits, No judgement on length of time you breastfeed (trying at all is considered a success), Advice for taking baby out, Bits of humor are sprinkled throughout the book, Co-sleeping information, The illustrations depict women of all different shapes and sizes, Attachment parenting facts, Random tips and tricks (including a way of tying a wrap to support a baby while breastfeeding that I really wish I'd know about with my first), Postpartum depression section, Lots of positive encouragement, and I really liked that the book isn't too preachy (she tells you what worked for her, but also says to do what feels right to you).

Must have for all breastfeeding moms!
This book was such a help during the post partum recovery time and in the difficult first weeks where I had issues with breastfeeding( my son had quite a chomp on him and managed to split one of my nipples and take a chunk out of the other in the first feeding) I cried every time I went to feed him bar cause it hurt so bad but it got better eventually and this book was a great source of comfort and useful information, I also got mastitis twice and the info really helped, she manages to give you everything you need at such a fragile time, including a sense of humor. I would recommend this book to all new moms.

brilliant
Not only is this book informative, it is also entertaining. It gives alot of practical information about breastfeeding in a format that is extremely visually appealing and easy to read. The illustrations are helpful, funny, and sometimes downright beautiful. The illustrations of real women with various body types is re-affirming. The book is incredibly supportive of breastfeeding efforts without being a nursing nazi that could contribute to a shame spiral if breastfeeding doesn't work out for a particular mother.I stayed up all night to read it the first night i got it and have picked it up again to revisit certain parts and images since then. This book would be an excellent gift (or self gift) for any new or expecting mother.

Great book, but got a used one for the price of a new one
The content is great, no question. However, I ordered a book with the condition New, and given the state of the cover and corners when it arrived, the book was clearly already used. Not happy with that...

Love this book as a first time mom!
This book made me feel less alone in those first few weeks of motherhood. Just reading about what I was going through helped so much since that was proof I wasn't just going crazy! It was surprisingly informative about breastfeeding, parenting styles, and beyond. It was also clever, funny, and an easy read. I would recommend this as a gift for a first time mom for sure!

Realistic Down to earth book for great advice
I ordered this for my wife after reading a positive review in HipMamma zine. Expecting twins we both read a lot of books on pregnancy, parenting and twins. This book by far has been her favorite. The advice is very simple and down to earth and realistic with a good amount of humor mixed in. The book has amazing illustrations done by the author and is very dad or SO friendly. There is also a great section on co-sleeping.

I laughed, I cried, I LOVED this book!
It's hilarious and touching. It is more "attachment" style, but not preachy. It mirrored my own thoughts and values. The cartoons in it are funny, it's nice to have a lighthearted baby book. It's mostly centered on breast feeding, but there's a lot of other info in there too. Highly recommend!

Very useful- great value
This was absolutely the single most helpful written breastfeeding resource I came across, all in from a million different small and big issues with breastfeeding and just a very good new perspective of how, why, and how long. I recommend- second only to Kellymom in coverage and general usefulness.

Mostly a fantastic book
This is a great book on breastfeeding, babywearing & co sleeping, very funny aswell as informative and empowering. That said, please pay absolutely no attention to the chapter "Hey, Stop That!" in which the author does a complete about face, jumps well off the 'Attachment Parenting' bandwagon, and starts going on about 'naughty steps' and treating your toddler like a puppy... 'get down to their level and a stern "NO"...' etc.For parenting advice that actually fits with attachment (or responsive) parenting, read Unconditional Parenting by Alfie Kohn, and/or Connection Parenting by Pam Leo.Also, in my copy of this book there is a chapter towards the end which gives incorrect, out-dated advice about how to prepare formula; saying to make it up in advance and store in the fridge.Formula powder is not sterile, if you do have to formula feed you should always boil a fresh kettle, and make the feed up as soon as you can, whilst the water is still very hot (over 70 degrees) to kill off bacteria in the milk powder. Then you shake /mix the formula and then cool the bottle by standing it in a bowl of cold water, or running it under the cold tap, and feed it immediately.

O, yes, o yes it is!
I (personally) have no use for this product. I bought it, looked at it and was reassured that with my beard and external plumbing this book is not for me.I took mine to the local Parents/Toddlers grŵp. The onlybperson who read/borrowed it was the only person I recall 'chest' feeding there in eight years.(Mebbe everybody was put off by my beard or my creepiness. Sori.)Dammo, I wish I could have fed my babies.

It helped me reach my goals and beyond.
This book is absolutely fantastic for anyone who is breastfeeding, supporting someone through breastfeeding or thinking about breastfeeding.I first borrowed this book from my local Breastfeeding Network drop in centre. I was at a low point and was just about ready to give up. I took this home with me and I literally could not put it down. The comics and artwork inside are funny but true. I felt connected to the author, as I just knew what she was talking about.Eventually I had to return the book of course, and decided to get my very own copy.Highly recommend.

Brilliant
If you are hoping to breastfeed this book will be your best friend (especially at 3am when you've had enough). If you are intending to bottle feed this book will be your baby's best friend as you'll be convinced to breastfeed and your baby will love you for that. Non preachy, funny, practical and very readable. This is the book you need!

Buy this book! This is THE book for breastfeeding mums.
I've been breastfeeding my first baby for nearly 3 months now and wish I'd known about this book when I was pregnant! This book was highly recommended to me by a friend, I'm also a health professional and work closely with breastfeeding mums and this book has been an inspiration to me! I have learned even more on a subject that I knew quite a bit about and has reassured me a great deal as a first-time mum to the reality of breastfeeding a baby. Well researched, lots of information, easy to read with lots of fabulous pictures and funny drawings. I'll be recommending this book to any mum or mum-to-be who wants to breastfeed, move over Gina Ford your advice just isn't compatible with breastfeeding.
