An upgrade from a smaller board. The size is good and it’s a sleek design. It feels durable. It’s fairly lightweight to move around. It’s a versatile size so it can be used for a variety of cutting requirements. It’s a good value for the money. The wood is very hard, so it may contribute to dulling a knife’s edge. Be mindful.

I love this solid, just right thickness and very well crafted bamboo cutting board. I can't beleive this costed me less than $16. I also love reverse side. It is 100% cutting space for me - no groove or nothing. When I first opened it, it saw some shaving debris and bamboo fibers. I scrubbed with dish med-coarse sponge and they are all gone. I love the fact that every sqaure inch of 18x12 is usable.

This is a well made, attractive board. We bought it to put under our new espresso machine, so that we can easily pull it out from underneath our overhead kitchen cabinets. It catches any spills and also helps protect our countertop. I bought this one as I wanted one without grooves, and one side of this board is flat, which is perfect for us. The board is a similar color to our cabinets, so is aesthetically pleasing.

High quality, thick cutting board for at home Master Chefs :) I hand wash and it’s held up great!

The board is an excellent value for the money but don’t expect top quality. The Master Chef brand says it all; one might think is it quality, but it is meant to give to students who are going to abuse it. They will leave it in water, they will gouge it, they will set a hot pan on it and burn it, etc. One cannot give students or contestants on a show an $800 John Boos board. With that in mind I was surprised it has an odor of plywood and on inspection I see it is a combination of boards glued together, not one solid piece of wood. It is evident when looking at the edges that there are 3 layers of wood and probably all the rest of it is also strips. That is fine because the cheapest solid piece of bamboo is twice this price. You get what you pay for, and this board is functional which is what one wants. It is also very thick so sits on the counter nicely. It took 2 days to properly oil it also, it seemed to be very dry. If you want a top-quality board that in the end won’t be all that much better for performing your chopping tasks, go ahead and spend at least twice as much and most likely 5 to 10 times more. If you need a board to be functional and want to save some money, go with this. The Master Chef logo might also offer some bragging rights, at least to those who don’t realize it is ultimately a low-cost board meant for students to learn with.
