Sally Hansen Color Foil Nail Polish Gold Standard, 0.33 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)

Had to post how smitten I am with the polish.. uncertain of metallic- it’s a really fun trend and doesn’t look out of line or inappropriate. Nothing “Goth” like for work, school, church, dress up or date night!! Don’t get me wrong.. Some colors add a fun flare like a Neon but, may have certain places it can appear tacky- IMHO! Sally Hansen metallic in purple lilac color doesn’t wear in that capacity. Color feels appropriate for preteen and up. As 40+ yr old.. I too actually loved the whimsical vibe with underlying solid color for balance. As for polish itself.. never used anything like it- goes on evenly and with no tack or grainy feel in its consistency. With adequate paint on brush (and not overdoing it!) paint pulls a perfect stroke.. I say this bc, polish practically dries as you move on to paint the next nail! Crazy helpful it’s sooo easy to paint the whole set. Best yet, you wont be like me- and mess up polish waiting for it to dry!! This by far my favorite aspect. Note: I tried/wore polish all x3 options and ended with same results- so, in the end it’s a personal preference! 1. Single layer without a top coat. Simple dries beyond fast, looks a tad more matted but still offers a bit of a sheen adding nothing else. I suggest painting to reach all edges in smooth longer strokes. Apply trying for perfection and bc it sets quickly- it should set without any oops! Leaving this the only layer you need. 2. Two layers of paint and no top coat.. this didn’t cause premature peeling due to thickness. It wore just as long as single layer did. IF wanting to achieve deeper color with a second later, you can.. but, 2nd coat won’t drastically darken like some paints- x1 layer gives plenty of color- So, use/not a x2 coat..? I’d say a 2nd layer if needing to fix stroke or blemish.. otherwise, isn’t really necessary! 3. X2 coats of metallic paint along with quick dry topcoat! I must add- this process took longest to dry.. even with quick dry aspect. This adds a bit more of a glossy finish- but, not enough to get a polished chrome effect. Polish alone does have a subtle shine- it’s not flat!! Using X3 layers also last same length of time before needing to redo. But, having x3 layers did peel off in large pieces as it began to lift up in water. Photos included are just x1 layer of polish painted x14 days ago.. as you can see, this wears off at tip when it begins to lift. I believe site states polish lasts a solid week- and although nails look a bit tattered.. it will give you some idea of wearability. Polish is on natural nail without a base or top coat. Bc results didn’t vary I prefer x1 layer of paint- and use of clear top coat if fixing an error.. otherwise, that’s it! Something I’ve never been able to pull off, except with this metallic polish.. I think I found a new bff- ability not to bump while dying is priceless and speed at which nails can’t be done.. perfect!! I may or may not have an obsession with the Sally Hansen Foil polishes. When they first came out, I bought them in every color. Then, I bought more of them on Amazon since they keep being discontinued. One coat is enough, goes on very much like a "foil" or chrome sort of look, and all of the shades are gorgeous. I get tons of compliments! The only bummer is they chip really quickly, so it's truly good for one night out. But, I love them and will keep buying as long as they're available!

I love this foil nail polish. It lasts several days (4-5) without chipping (but only if I use a bonder base coat and a good clear top coat). My favorite is the silver because it goes with everything, but all the colors are very pretty!

I get lots of compliments when I wear this polish. It dries quickly and goes on smoothly.

I love the color but used to have this same brand of polish years ago and I don't remember it coming off as easily as it does now. I can paint my nails and it doesn't chip, it like fades off as though it were crayola marker on my nails and it rubbs off after a few short days. I was a little disappointed that it didn't last longer and have as much of a chrome appeal as it did 5 years ago. Something has definitely changed in what they use to make this polish with. I think if I use a clear top coat it may last longer.

This is the most beautiful nail polish I've ever had! I've gotten so many compliments on it! It goes on super easy and dries super quick!

This item was clearly used. It looks like it had been wiped down, but it was all smudged. The cap is sticky and the paint is peeling from the label. Gross.

Love the colour and love the pigmentation but it chips far too easy even after doing all the toasting steps. It just doesn’t stay on…
