2pcs 1/2 Inch NPT Thermowell Weldless Stainless Steel Temperature Sensor Thermowell with Plastic Cap for Homebrew Brewing Beer Fermenter 50mm/2'' Length

As noted in title, the well tube is welded onto the threaded base. Decent workmanship but the steel in the tube has obviously had a huge thermal cycle. Product appears to be SST but there is corrosion inside the tube, should be fine after cleaning. Measured the threads and they are tapered per NPT spec but are the minimum size range and fit sloppy for the first few turns into a fitting. Have not tested for leaks yet. Would return and replace if I didn't have a need for them soon.

Works just as described. As with all stainless steel items, properly clean and passivate before use to prevent rust. Yes, stainless can rust without proper care.

Lo mejor: • Instalación: La rosca de 1/2" NPT encajó perfectamente en la "T" de PVC que usé en mi sistema de filtrado. Con un poco de cinta teflón, selló a la primera y no ha goteado ni una gota, lo cual era mi mayor miedo. • Compatibilidad: Mi sonda de temperatura (uso un controlador tipo Inkbird) entró perfectamente dentro del pozo. • Material: Al estar en contacto constante con agua fría y a veces con desinfectantes, el acero inoxidable es vital. Se ve muy resistente y de buena calidad. Conclusión: Si estás armando tu propio sistema de enfriamiento, estos termopozos son esenciales para no tener cables sueltos dentro del agua. 100% recomendados.

Will work as soon as the temps get above freezing here in NW Ohio. I got them to put in a wireless sensor for my outdoor furnace.

Although these stainless steel tubes work great with 1-wire DS18B20 temperature sensors, I am not giving them a great review because the stainless steel grade is not very good. I have I have about ten of these installed in a hydronic heating system, used to measure the temperature behavior at several locations. The plumbing is all copper with some brass fittings, no steel or galvanized. All of these probe fittings are showing signs of rust after only a few months in operation, and stainless is not suppose to react with copper or brass. I can only hope they do not spring leaks in my lifetime.

When I plumbed these into my radiant floor heating system they leaked despite copious amounts of Teflon Tape and pipe joint compound. They tightened all the way into the 3/4" to 1/2" brass bushing so didn't seem to have the proper taper that NTP fittings use. They leaked and I had to replace them temporarily with a plug.
