I ordered a total of 8 of these totes earlier this month in preparation for a move and when they arrived several of them were broken. The reason they broke so easily is because they are not made of good rubberized plastic but hard plastic instead. There are no handles either, you have to grip the tote using the edge of it and after a day of moving my fingertips are wrecked, also the locking latch for the lid comes undone as soon as you pick one up as there is no handle so when you grab it it pops the lid, super annoying. These things would be semi okay to store light stuff but don't think you are going to put books or anything in them and move them around easily because you won't be able to without having them break in your hands.

The totes themselves are on par with others like them, but the packaging was very poor especially considering how expensive these were and how much they must cost to ship/return. Three very large 30x20x17" totes nested with lids in a relatively light duty box with absolutely no padding or cardboard inserts to prevent them from banging around. The shipping box was the original one provided by the manufacturer and marked "fragile", but that doesn't accomplish much. A box this size should also have handhold cutouts for proper carrying to prevent rough handling. The box itself wasn't actually damaged much, just one edge a bit pushed in. All three totes were undamaged, but all three lids had cracks and broken off bits to varying degrees. I didn't plan to use the lids, so I won't be returning them.I hated spending this much for plastic totes, but I had a specific use for them and couldn't find any that met my requirements locally. I'd read the reviews and went into it expecting they might be damaged, but rolled the dice anyways. Probably could have saved some money buying used returns, but the descriptions don't indicate what exactly is wrong with them.My specific use for these... litter boxes... for three high peeing cats who don't always get along. I did some research and read info from a cat behaviorist about litter boxes and realized my current boxes were woefully undersized for my cats, as were most of the ones on the market. All the boxes meant for high peeing kitties weren't anywhere near high enough for mine, had seams that leaked, and covered boxes in general are not good for them. My requirements were for tall clear totes that are right about this 30x20x17in. "goldilocks" size that did not have any indentations or bump outs inside that would make scooping and cleaning more difficult. Day one of setup and all three cats are pretty much exclusively using the new boxes and seem to really love them. I didn't even have to cut an entry door in the boxes yet since all three seem happy to jump over the sides so far. I did put a shorter box next them that they can use if desired. I could have gotten much cheaper low-sided totes and jerry-rigged tall pee guards all around them, but I've been there and done that and found it frustrating.Can't speak to the non-litterbox uses of these. :) Thought this might be helpful to other people with high-peeing cats. These boxes were recommended several places online for this use, but none of the reviews here had mentioned it so far.

The only heads up is every bin was cracked in shipping. These could be packaged with more protection since they are not super heavy duty - unfortunately they took a beating on the corners. I will still use them for my purpose but some customers may be very angry or return for this . Otherwise they will fit our needs.

Cheap quality - opened up the package to find pieces of broken plastic everywhere.

These totes are very costly for what they are. We spent quite a bit of time shopping around and researching reviews and so forth prior to purchasing these as it is imperative that the totes are properly sealed. The totes are all in good condition and seem heavy duty and they will do the job for what we bought them for. What is disappointing is that one of the lids is missing a clasp which is very much needed and why we purchased these in the first place. These are enormous totes and they cost roughly $23 a piece. We tried to get a hold of the manifold and have not yet been able to. I gladly change my review to being more positive if they get us a new lid in a timely fashion that has both clasps on it. I maintain that they are way overpriced, though, but are good quality with the exception of the missing clasp.We have tried contacting the manufacturer and were told they needed pictures and the product number which we provided, but they have not sent any new lids or replacement parts. I would do zero stars if that was an option. These totes are way overpriced and we could have gotten 6 larger totes at Walmart that clasp on all 4 sides for the same price as the 4 pf these that only have 2 claps, and 2 of the lids are missing claps that we haven't received, nor have we gotten any more responses from the manufacturer.

Great to have on hand to organize stuff.
