Excellent product that does what you'd expect
This water seal has performed very well, restoring a beat-up old fence to former glory with minimal effort and full confidence that it will last. After a season of weather I can confidently report that this water seal has performed well and appears to be in it for the long run. Its initial unassuming texture and appearance translate nicely to actual fence board, though it may require a second coat (or repeat passes while doing the first coat) if you want to truly achieve the advertised color. That was not an issue for me. You probably should test it in a small area to make sure it will finish as expected. I imagine the underlying wood color and grain might have some impact. In my case the fence was so far gone from the previous finish that it didn't matter too much to me. But as I imply above, a first pass might not cover completely so you might take that into account if you're looking to cover a large area with one pass. Of course it smells a bit when you're applying it, but this is not an issue after it dries. If you've dealt with paints and varnishes before you understand that's part of the deal. While applying it seems a bit thin but it does soak into the wood a bit so I expect this is necessary. The only other advice I can offer is cover all surfaces below any area you are applying it to, because this stuff definitely is thin enough to splatter on anything nearby in the normal course of application, and it does work so you may have a hard time cleaning it off of, say, concrete surfaces or clothing if you are not prepared. Be prepared!

Quick and easy
This stuff is amazing. Goes on thick, only one coat needed and dries quickly. I used this instead of traditional wood stain on my fence gate and it saved me so much time and effort.

Works as Said
Not a bad product. It essentially did the work. I thought it would be very thin and oily, but it was thicker like paint. I was staining two shed ramps, highly sun damaged and old wood. The stain went on thick and did fill the cracks, covered the wood fill, and does, when dry, look nice--but not like wood, more like paint. I do think that the product wasn't mixed enough, as the consistency changed when I got to the very end. It does look quite nice, a solid brown color, against the grass. It is waterproofing and in a week or so, with rain, does not seem to be decaying... I did feel it was quality enough to purchase another color to stain something else. Affordable. I used almost a whole jug on 2 worn ramps, going over it multi times, and do think other jobs and better wood, would make the product last long.

Excellent
I've used this stain before on wood siding. Back then it was called "Acorn Brown", but the current "Chestnut Brown" looks like an exact match. The previous stain lasted for 10 years on the siding, so hopefully the current formula will last that long too. One coat provides very good deep color. I saw no point in applying the second coat. The stain is very easy to apply with a deck pad or a brush. The only warning is that you will need at least 3-4 days of dry weather in a row for the job : 1 -2 days for the surface to dry after a wash or rain, 1 day to paint, 1 day for the stain to dry before the next rain, although it's dry-to-touch and ready for a second coat within 2 hours. There are other stains on Amazon that can be applied onto the damp wood, and I would have used them, but none were solid color that would watch the color I wanted. So if you have a limited amount of dry days to do the work, I recommend looking for something else, if you're fine with semi-transparent colors.

Seal n Stain
Had purchased Thomson Seal n Stain from another hardware store n ran out before finishing the deck. Saw it on Amazon for the same price n decided to order it. Saved me an Huber ride. It’s a very nice product. Goes on easily n covers quite well. I bought the solid color which you can see on the video, looks quite good. It’s my new deck using recycled wood. But after the seal n stain one can’t even tell. Everyone seeing it thinks it looks new!! I stained it myself. Looks great no?? Recommend Thompson’s stain n seal.
