Vestil LID-STL-LL Steel Lever Lock Pail Lid, for 5 gallon, Black

Bought this lid for the Vestil (PAIL-STR-RI-UN) steel 5 gallon pail. You get a steel lid plus steel lockable ring. The lid has a under lip gasket to help seal the lid when the lock ring compresses it to the pail. Good quality and works as it should.

I used these to seal the metal 5 gallon buckets. I use them to haul grease from out deep fryer. They seal very tight and are durable.

This will work on any metal 5 gallon pail and is definitely worth the investment if you choose to store salt-sand mix in it because it keeps it from getting wet. Because any time moisture gets in there, that mix will become rock-solid and you cannot use it! That is the best way to store it! Believe me!

Before purchasing this I read the reviews and was a little hesitant about this item. I decided to take my chances and pulled the trigger on this and a 5 gal metal pail a little while ago here on Amazon. Both arrived I put it on the pail, the lid fit but the locking ring didn't. I thought I got had! after taking time to examine the locking ring I found that one side was wider than the other. I flipped it over and it fit like... it was made to go on the 5 gal pail. Go figure! I highly recommend this if you have a 5 gal pail of the Berrymans carb cleaner - B-9 COLD PARTS CLEANER -- 5 GALLON It fits perfectly, keeps the cleaner from evaporating, and most importantly keeps the cleaner in the pail if it is accidently knocked over as it is expensive and the fumes are dangerous. I couldn't be more pleased with this product.

Use the original orange lid for the Berryman 5 gallons of carburetor cleaner... The thin smooth black lid is NOT as good as the original orange ridged lid that came with the five gallon can of Berryman B9 carburetor parts cleaner. When I got the can with the original orange lid, I could turn it upside down without it leaking. I examined the orange lid and the black lid that came with the locking band. The gaskets on the Berryman lid was a black material which is definitely designed to resist the carburetor cleaner, while the lid supplied with the band has an off white gasket. I compared the rims of the two lids and they were apparently the same, except the orange Berryman lid had the steel locking tabs. Using a pair of aviation snips, I cut off the metal tabs flush with the bottom of the slots between them. They I sanded the raw edges and hammered the edges down so they did not stick out.. The lock band held the modified original orange lid perfectly. The whole modification took about twenty minutes. Now, I know that the seal would NOT degrade, if the cleaner attacks the seal on the thinner black lid.

this lid was used on a pump we made out of a 5 gallon bucket for our fish tank. It seals perfectly to a standard 5 gallon bucket and doesn't leak even under pressure of a large 75 gallon tank pushing water through the bucket. This saved us tons of money ($200) on a nice filter. The regular bucket lid that came with the plastic bucket leaked so we ordered this metal one and it did the trick perfectly!! Highly recommended. Also, we were able to cut the lid and put a pipe through it without an issue. Still no leaks!! the hinge fastener is very very tight and water tight!

THIS SAYS ITS FOR A FIVE GALLON BUCKET, HOWEVER THE LID IS NOT FOR YOUR STANDARD 5 GALLON BUCKET AS IT IS TO SMALL AND LITERALLY FITS IN A NORMAL FIVE GALLON BUCKET WITH SPACE TO SPARE AROUND IT LAYING IN THE BOTTOM... HAD HIGH HOPES BUT I GUESS THE NORMAL FIVE GALLON BUCKET IS DIFFERENT FROM WHAT THEY ARE SELLING. I EMAILED THE COMPANY AND WANTED TO EXCHANGE FOR THE RIGHT SIZE AND GET MORE AS WE NEED THEM BUT THEY NEVER RESPONDED BACK. DO KNOW IT IS WELL BUILT, JUST DOES NOT FIT A NORMAL FIVE GALLON BUCKET THAT YOU WOULD GET AT HOME DEPOT OR LOWES
