This knife is really cool. The handles came to me in a beautiful color. The blade is thin, but still has rigidity and isn’t super flexible, which I like. This makes it easier to sharpen and use. The blade sharpens and forms burrs well. However, the blade came to me with a not so great edge and tip, as well as a pretty poorly made bevel. So, I had to reshape/resharpen the bevel and tip myself. The size is pretty good, and I can see why it was an Old West favorite. Overall, an inexpensive and historic knife every collector should get!

OK when I purchased this green river hunting knife, I expected about the same quality as old Hickory! This knife, the green river Hunter surpasses old hickory quality by leaps and bounds. Mine is tight sharp and a very high quality! It matches quite well, with the BPS sheath! The handle is tight. Has some sharp edges that will be easy to rectify! But very well put together. I hope to get more of their eyes now like the ripper! You will not be disappointed when you get this knife the packaging was very protective and tight! Bravo, green river knives , excellent product! With the BPS knife sheath that feels like it was made for it! This set up is beautiful, and the 1095 steel is easy to sharpen it also came razor sharp in my case I expected to have to do work to this as far as I’m concerned there’s no work to be done beautiful thank you! PS the grip is perfect for a large size hand!

Excellent product; this is an iconic knife in production since the 1840s....highly recommended for reenactment and general hunting chores.

I bought a BPS Knife sheath from Amazon with a ferro rod attached to it. The sheath is WELL made and the Russell 4215 knife fits nicely.If you are not trying to destroy a knife this can Baton SMALL pieces of wood and get a fire going in short time. The knife is a good starter knife. The handles are real wood riveted to the full tang. Not bad for the money. I also changed the D ring to something less fragile than the brass wire that came with the sheath to something a bit more sturdy.

Very sharp

I’ve been bushcrafting for decades and I have to say this is a great entry level or budget knife. Combined with the BPS belt knife sheath complete with ferro rod, you have an awesome setup!

Great knife, the blade is awesome. The handle would be awesome as well except I believe the shipping process scarred it up. The blade arrived in a big paper envelope, (not cushioned)however the blade was wrapped in a little plastic to protect it. The knife handle however, was not and I believe it was scratched up through the rough sorting process of shipping. There are horizontal scratches made thru the cross hatching design that are visible as well as a chip at the top of the handle. It took 7 days to arrive thru prime which is ridiculous so I'm not willing to ship it back and wait for a replacement to arrive. I'm one who is able to sand and correct the issues but if you are looking for a product to arrive in perfect condition, this may not be it.

I do it all nice spatula spoon harpoon whatever you need This is all you need in the kitchen I really like the patina it gets if you don't wash it. Just keep it in the fridge.

Used to dress and butcher a deer, this guy was the star of the show, highly recommend
