This canny little product came as Godsend and it just sorted my life chopping onions in the kitchen Very easy to assemble and use, non slip surface and a jiffy to clean Probably the greatest invention in kitchen utilities !

Ich habe das Einweckglas gekauft, im Glauben es sei wirklich Luftdicht. Nun, ich habe den Wahn, jede Woche zu einem Dosenfisch ein Paar schlesische Gürkchen dazu Essen zu müssen. Diese sind in Gläser mit Deckel zum zudrehen, wenn man sie einmal aufmacht, sind sie natürlich nicht mehr Luftdicht. Da ich ziemlich lange brauche, bis die Gürkchen aufgebraucht sind, verschlechtert sich deren Geschmack, sind aber noch genießbar. Mit einem luftdichten Einweckglas wollte ich den Geschmack erhalten, doch ich kann keinen. Effekt feststellen. Rein optisch wirkt das Glas hervorragend, wie auch die Gummidichtung. Noch dazu sind Glas und Verschluss sehr stabil - mir ist das Teil heruntergefallen.. Eigentlich wirkt das Ding absolut hochwertig, doch was ich damit wollte, bekomme ich nicht, daher kann ich aus rein persönlichen Befindlichkeiten nur zwei Sterne vergeben. Aktualisierung am 15.09.2026 : Inzwischen verschließt der Deckel luftdicht, vielleicht dadurch, dass ich unabsichtlich das Dichtgummi verschoben habe. D. h. nun bleiben meine Gürkchen schmackhaft. Daher korrigiere meine Bewertung auf fünf Sterne, sollte ich einer Täuschung unterliegen, würde ich meine Bewertung erneut überarbeiten.

It's a glass jar. Arrived chipped in a couple areas and the box was beaten pretty good but I blame that on a bad handler somewhere on the delivery route.

I wanted a nice jar to go with the Kilner WM jars that were on the way. I was replacing my 1 litre jar that I saved from the store when I purchased Garlic!! I like matching thing and things that work. The Kilner moulded logos match, the jar works brilliantly. I was worried that the clip sealing wire would bend and stretch and get too lose to work but 1, it appears to be stainless steel buy the shiny silverness could be wrong, 2 the wire while being sturdy doesn’t seem to bend at all when closing, 3 the clip top closing is pretty tight but not overly so, now so I think it can have some give and still seal well. So the huge opening is easy to get my Greek yoghurt curds in and out without a mess, it’s BIG 1 litre, it looks great in the fridge, I’m assuming it’s tempered glass since you can preserve in it, the closing wire mechanism looks like Stainless Steel and is very sturdy, it seals easily every time. If you want a large 1 litre jar with a wide top opening ( or other larger size), or you want an impressive j looking jar that’s functional and seals, if you like glass jars that have nice moulded names on them. THEN I recommend this Kilner 1 litre swing top round jar. Also it’s companions in the larger sizes.
