Unbeatable Performance and Enduring Quality
These Darn Tough 1959-C-1023-06 Hiker 1/4 Midweight socks have become my go-to choice for staying warm and dry on cold, wet days. They pair exceptionally well with my ankle-high boots, making them perfect for muddy seasons and outdoor adventures. Even when these socks are exposed to water, they maintain their ability to keep my feet warm and comfortable. Darn Tough has truly mastered the art of crafting durable socks, and this pair is no exception. As a 255lb man, I've struggled with socks wearing down quickly, often disintegrating within a year. However, these socks have proven to be remarkably resilient. After a quick wash in cold water and a cold tumble dry, they bounce back into shape, almost like they're made of nitinol. But what sets these Darn Tough socks apart is their outstanding lifetime warranty. The confidence in their product is evident with this policy – if the socks ever break down for any reason, you can exchange the old pair for a brand new pair. I purchased three pairs of Darn Tough socks throughout 2022, and to my amazement, all of them are still in prime condition. These socks have exceeded my expectations and become the only ones I wholeheartedly recommend. In conclusion, the Darn Tough 1959-C-1023-06 Hiker 1/4 Midweight socks are a true winner. With their unbeatable performance, warm merino wool, and ability to withstand wear and tear, they are the perfect companion for cold, wet days and any outdoor activities. Add to that the impressive lifetime warranty, and you have a sock that not only keeps your feet happy but also gives you peace of mind for the long haul. Darn Tough has won me over with their exceptional quality, and I can't imagine recommending any other socks.

the best socks
I love that these socks have very specific sizing and are not one size fits most. They're so durable and comfortable for my husband. They are a little more expensive than buying a pack at the store but you get what you pay for, well worth the money. My husband is always getting holes, we've tried a lot of brands and this one is the best one.

The perfect sock! Sock it to me!
Gifted these sock after reading the warranty behind these socks. Not only are these sock super comfortable, there is a lifetime warranty. If for whatever reason you aren't happy with your socks, or they wear out, the company will replace them. Yes, these cost more than an average sock, but the recipient says they fit perfectly, like a glove, a custom sock fit. Isn't that worth it already? No extra material floating around in your shoe, but a sock that fits your foot because the sock comes in sizes. Choose the correct size, and enjoy the feel of compression that hugs your foot and makes your daily grind easier! These are merino wool, so they will keep your feet comfortable in the summer and the winter. Merino wool has that special talent! Just knowing that your socks have a guarantee behind them, what's not to love? Give these socks a chance, I'm pretty sure, you'll love them.

Amazing socks, especially for those with sensory sensitivity issues.
I'm extremely picky about tactile stimuli, socks have always been a challenge for me... The seam has to run above the toe not at the end; They need to feel soft and not scratchy but durable; They and have a little compression, but not too much; etc. If anything is off with my socks it literally socks drive me crazy, like that itch that can't be scratched but can't be ignored crazy. I have not used for hiking or high activity yet but based on what I have seen, I don't see there being any unexpected differences. These have been amazing, the seam runs over the toes, but is barely noticeable. There's not as much stretch as I'm used to but that's likely due to material differences, after a week of breaking them in they have a little bit of stretch for compression but have otherwise molded themselves to the shape of my feet, so the "lack of stretch" is not a problem. Best of all they are warm but breath so my feet stay dry in day-to-day usage while padded and comfortable. As far as I've experienced, they are definitely worth the price.

Simply put, on a different level.
These are a level above cheaper socks. Not thick, except where it counts, and won’t make you go to a bigger shoe size. Moisture wicking, well constructed, and supremely comfy. Warm, without being hot in the summer. Excellent hiking socks, and clear mid-height boots. Look good with shoes, as well. Not slippery. Sizing as expected per the size chart. May run a tiny bit large, so if you’re debating between sizes, go down in size. Expensive, but these deliver, “you get what you pay for,” in spades.

Great, but a bit large (shrinking helped)
I like these socks for their superior cushioning. but my most recent order was a bit large for my men's size 10 1/2 feet. The socks were too long so the heel cup was up the back of my leg. So I purposely shrank them by boiling them in hot water, and now they fit perfect. The large I ordered are supposed to fit 10-12, but they needed to be shrunk for best fit.

Best socks ever
In Dec 2023 I bought these socks after a friend had told me about them. I thought the price was crazy at first, but its not. These are hands down the best socks you will buy. Worth investing in for sure. I bought 7 pairs and have worn one pair every single day for the last two years and none of them have holes. I have a pair on as we speak. The size is good, they look good, they're just thick enough but also have heavier weight if you want them. Good warmth in the heavier ones and good color variety! Get them!

All you ever needed, but didn't know that you needed
I must say, I never thought of socks. Why would I? Sure! I've worked as a firefighter, paramedic, physician assistant on my feet all day, but socks are socks after all right? Of course I loved hiking, going up mountains and hills and through streams. But cloth is cloth and sure it's important to have clean dry feet for many reasons including to prevent infection and skin breakdown, but my socks before were adequate. This is what I thought probably 5 years ago or more. Since I then bought my first pair of Darn Tough socks, life has just been better. Sure, part of it was due to a career change and my first marriage which has been very happy and exciting yet peaceful. But the unsung hero of my travels has been that, with the exception of when I'm performing music and have to wear a tuxedo or a suit, all I wear during other activities are my Darn Tough socks. I have low ankle socks, I have higher longer socks. I have ones that are well padded, ones that I've treated with permethrin for when I do international hiking, and others that I'll wear with my work boots or for special activities. Some I work in the lawn while wearing, others while traversing up a large granite mountain. But regardless of the situation or what type of Darn Tough sock I'm wearing, my feet are always safe, padded, well protected and dry quickly if exposed to water. With the exception of one pair of socks that I purchased due to the aforementioned musical performances that I engage in ever so rarely, the rest of my fleet of socks all come from. Darn Tough. It's just a matter of what pair I wish to wear that day and that moment, what job there is to be done. I think it's safe to say that this company has outstanding quality control as I've not had to deal with hardly anything and the only sock that I had to get rid of was due to a momentarily particularly aggressive African Gray parrot, who must have felt that the resting pair of socks had insulted its mother and decided to produce a large hole in them while mimicking barking like a dog. He's an African Gray: if you know the parrot species, you'll understand. If you don't know the species then what I just said makes no sense, but trust me, it makes sense. I cannot recommend these highly enough and as long as the company stays in business, I will stay loyal customer without a doubt. I have bought several different product lines of theirs and all have had excellent quality control and longevity, so I assume their entire brand offerings are probably the same in high quality. I chose not to add a picture of the socks originally, since I assume anyone reading this review (you poor individual... there has to be something better you can be doing with your time, yes? Just trust me and by the socks and then get on with your day, people need you) are familiar with how socks tend to look. But if you do wonder while you wander, the socks look as they do in the description the company has provided. However, after some thought, the possibility that one of my pictures could end up on the top of the Amazon review for this item was just too sweet, too enticing for me to pass up. It also allowed me to burn even further time and stay unproductive for even longer, a win-win if there ever was one. Pictured: two several years old pair of Darn Tough tough socks of different styles, and an amateur (ham) radio to show how adventurous I must be. My best regards to any and all who have read this review, and I apologize for using your time in such a poor manner. Hopefully at least someone benefits from it, which will make it all worthwhile. Meanwhile I have succeeded in not only speaking highly about a product that I fully support and love to wear, but I've also succeeded in putting off work that I should have been doing on my house by an additional 15 minutes. So either way you look at this review, for me it was a success.
